Let’s talk. I found this place only while here on G- maps. If you know about real real, this place served up the real real real. The locals are 2000% right about Sunrise Restaurant. Yes, I dined-in, and ate like my usual piggy self. The sushi rocks, and it’s fresh! Not fluffed up with watered down wasabi and flavorkess ginger. Let me repeat that. The sushi rocks! We also had the bitter melon and the dynamite. Bow to the food gods. Thank you. If you’re after all that atmosphere, well you might not be. However, you will be – if you’re after the real real.

Very good sushi/sashimi. Found this local place on the walk down from Diamnond Head state park. Worth the visit, no beer, but u can bring your own…which I did

Authentic Okinawa food. Which is not quite the same is mainland Japanese food. Visits a few times for different items. Pork feet soup is a must. Okinawa soba is great. Bitter melon (goya) champuru is great as well. Fried squid is good for beer. Grilled salmon is good.

The place is a whole in the wall no frills kinda place. I love how the owner lady does not talk to us in English at all. I felt like I was in Okinawa again. We ordered sushi, sashimi, soba, and stir fry noodles and tempura. The broth…. Is so clean and so tasty, seasoned perfectly, and the fish is soo fresh. Must try. Call ahead if you can.

I’ve been coming to this one of a kind restaurant for over 5 years. It truly is a gem and so is the family that runs it. They had takeout during Covid and now they are finally open for dine in. The owners are wonderful people and always make you feel at home. Their food is great and reasonably priced. If you want a unique experience that you will remember for the rest of your life go here!

Ooooshi! Okinawan food! The pig feet soup and spare rib soup is so yummy! I love the soup base. Most of the nigiri sushi comes with wasabi on it ! I keep forgetting to ask them no wasabi please! Call in order to take out, finding parking can be a bit hard there, or a far walk.
