This was my first time visit to Sun Nong Dan. My party didn’t order a lot of dishes. The two that we ordered tasted pretty good. There wasn’t a lot of service being offered but on the other hand we didn’t need many. I felt the restaurant was like a big hall. It can get very noisy when there are a good number of dinners. One annoying thing was there was a few flies roaming around our table.

Sun Non Dang has the best Galibi Jjim Specialty in the area!! They are very famous in K-town and there is always long wait with horrible parking there. The San Gabriel location is very spacious and clean with plenty of parking. The Galibi Jjim is incredibly delicious, and the Korean braised short ribs are fresh/flavorful. The side dishes included radish, kimchi, and chives. They also have very good Korean oxtail and beef brisket soups as well.

Pictures don’t do Justice to the beef stew! Tender and flavorful, the veggies and sauce go well with the rice. It has much more rich layers of flavors than what one could make at home. The sweetness is from fruits that stewed over 7 hours with the beef. The soups are totally over shadowed by the stew.

Came around dinner time (6 pm) and there was unexpectedly not a long wait for seats. Got called for a table not long after I wrote my name on the waitlist. Ordered the ox bone soup with beef brisket (17.99) and the ox bone soup with various meat (18.99). The food was served in less than 10 minutes which was great. Both the soups came with noodles and rice (which you can choose white or brown rice). The portion was alright for the price, with a lot of meat and the soup was pretty good (it did taste a bit on the bland side though for me). There was free side dishes and barley tea (which was good and it was in a nice kettle). The service was not bad too, with employees coming quickly and responding to requests promptly. I would probably come again to try other dishes like their well known galbi jim.

My past memories of this place always would’ve been five stars. However, I do agree with other reviewers that the meat is not soft and falling off the bone as before. They must be not cooking it as slow or something. Took my girlfriend there last night for her birthday. She did enjoy it. We went about 9:45 PM and it was not that busy. There was many servers, but a couple times a bit hard to get their attention. We had to steal a chopstick and extra napkins from a nearby empty table. when you’re getting the Galbi Jjim, one napkin each just doesn’t cut it. Lol.

Came here after a chilly day at the beach with friends. Man, did the hot food hit the spot!!! We ordered #25 on the menu, I don’t recall what it’s called, but it had rice cakes, potatoes, beef ribs, and CHEESE. Oh boy the cheese. Overall, the dish was surprisingly delicious and flavorful. Pro tip, mix the sauce with the rice…elite combo. The medium size was quite filling for a party of 5, and we were all quite hungry. The side dishes were also *chefs kiss*. Somehow even the tea was unusually good too. It can get quite busy/crowded/loud (when we came we didn’t have to wait, but when we left we saw lots of people waiting outside). But they’re open until quite late.

A new find of good Korean restaurant for us. Although this place has been here with the same name, this newly opened with new renovation seemed to be a new restaurant. Even the menu seemed to be different.
