I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sum Ramen in Millburn, NJ, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience! From the moment I stepped inside, the excellent service and attention to detail were apparent.

I most like their unique take on mapo tofu, along with a nice variety of Asian dishes in a small but decorated dining area.

Sum Ramen, located in Millburn, offers a pretty good selection of Ramen. We had the black garlic Ramen and Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and both were pretty good. If I had to compare, the thinner noodles in the Black Garlic were ether, but the broth of the Spicy Tan Tan was better.

It’s a very cute ramen restaurant. Atmosphere was nicely lit and despite being small felt just right in its size. Wait time for the food was not long at all and the service was very accommodating.

Went there for ramen on a cold evening with the family and it was great. The gyoza, Bao bao and the ramen were amazing. You can’t go wrong with any choice and the service was fantastic. Definitely will come again.

The cozy cute and clean place. Appetizer called korokke (croquette) was very good. Crunchy but not too oily. I tried the one with mozzarella cheese. So tasty. As a main, I tried ox tails ramen noodle. The broth was very tasty. It tends to be either salty or oily in some places, but not this place. Ox tails were so tender and juicy but not too oily either. Renkon (lotus root) were also with the topping which I liked them. Ms. Sum (owner) was such a nice lady. I’m from out of Millburn, but definitely comes back again!

What a treat. The chicken gyoza is the best I’ve ever had. Your thirst is quenched with water with fresh lemon and mint. The tan tan is flavorful without a crazy amount of salt. My gf had the chicken katsu rice bowl and it was fabulous. The wait staff is on top of their game and are super friendly. Can’t wait to come back

Great music and lovely decorations, the food was incredible and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to eat ramen. Bonus, there’s candy jars in the back, and they offer you a bottle of water flavored with mint and lime which was really good. The picture is what I got, the Black Garlic Ramen, which was delicious, and you should definitely try!

Wow… I can’t say enough good things about our experience here. The atmosphere is relaxed, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. The servers were very friendly and super attentive. The food is extraordinary with great visual appeal- the tonkotsu broth was savory and slightly less creamy than average, the pumpkin curry chicken korokke with curry sauce were a unique offering and to die for, and the shrimp and spicy pork bao buns were delicious. And to whom it concerns, all workers were masked and the place was spotless. My bf and I are very covid cautious, and this was one of a handful of times we’ve felt comfortable enough to eat indoors during the pandemic. We will definitely drive the hour to return to this cozy spot.
