Restaurant is apparently transitioning in name from Joan’s Restaurant to Sugar & Biscuits but the food and service are still both great. My order was taken quickly and food order was fast and correct. Will definitely return when in the area.

Traditional low key diner that’s family owned and loved by locals. On my first visit, at 8:30am, a table was readily available. Service was prompt, friendly, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. Our table tried a variety of menu items and no one was disappointed; chicken fried steak with gravy, sliced tomatoes, Biscuits, grits, hashbrowns, eggs. Definitely get a biscuit!!!

Great staff, very friendly and exceptional service. Food was warm, I prefer my food to come out steaming hot but I hardly get that anywhere. Food was good but I ordered the country fried steak, it was not homemade, it was like the frozen patties with gravy. So, if I was asked, I would tell the owner to do more homemade, tastes better. But, all in all I would recommend and I will return, I just won’t order the country fried steak.

I’ve only recently discovered Joan’s, even though I’ve lived here for years. I’m mad about the time I spent not knowing about them. This restaurant epitomizes southern gentility. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, the food is great and the prices are reasonable. Whether you swing in for some sausage gravy biscuits or for meatloaf, you’ll leave satisfied and in a better mood. Give this local gem a shot the next time you’re out this way.
