Went there yesterday and the person working was a new girl and she was doing her best. The morning shift did not do any prep work for her. Three customers had to change there order so she could make them a sandwich. After waiting for 20min she finally got to me, ” I was third in line.” I had to change my order as well. The manager lady showed up and barley washed her hands. She didn’t melt my cheese, which is not bad but she could have asked if I want it toasted. Don’t forget that this is the manager I’m dealing with now. So I finally got my food and went home. My son who order steak and cheese, got an upset stomach in the middle of the night and I’m rumbling this morning. My wife is also rumbling.

I was lead to believe this Subway location in Helena, AL had improved over the past several months. It did appear to be more clean but I looked for the Health Department rating which is supposed to be in a visible location, it was no where to be seen. We ordered despite this and the young lady who prepared my sandwich was not wearing gloves. Neither was the guy who prepared my friend’s sandwich. My sandwich was made as I requested but the bread was stale and fell apart. The tuna was dry and the spinach was wilted. My friend’s sandwich was not prepared as requested, bread was stale & the cold cut meat was not good. My friend made the comment, we were robbed because the sandwich’s were barely eatable. We are not going back to this location. Just throw $15 out of the window, still hungry.

First, I am 38 years old and have never complained about service anywhere, but this is too much. I was in the Helena Alabama store to get lunch for my children. The visit started with one of the two employees eating while there was a line almost to the door. The second employee started an argument with her which led to multiple people leaving. Then she started helping without washing her hands and her pants were almost at her knees. How does this clothing choice not violate some health code. Then it went too far when she used profanity with my 5 year old; directly asking what that “m****** f***** wants. I canceled the order that hadn’t been made and paid for the two sandwiches that they had started and threw them away. I asked for a receipt but I was told that they didn’t give receipts. I am so disappointed that this happened in Helena and will not go back. I will be sharing this with my network and I am considering going back to get pictures to share so others will know not to go there. I hope someone who can effect change can go see the clothing of the employees and the condition of the store today. P.S. Clean your store.

Sandwiches are good, workers are friendly but the owners are not doing their job seeing that equipment is maintained. Last three times we were in: 1) Card machine was broken. Waited 30 minutes for manager to get there to pay (food was made already or we would have left). 2) Card machine didn’t work, cash only. We left. 3) Tea urn broken, no tea. Soda machine out of carbonation, carbonation bottle padlocked so employees couldnt change it out. Again, food quality is good. Employees are, generally friendly and efficient. Owners not maintaining the actual store is hurting business. 3*

The owners need to reassess management at this location. Today on 6/5 there was only 1 worker during lunch traffic and he was doing the best he could. It took up to 40 minutes to get a sandwhich. The line was long and many people left. He was by himself. If your management shows they were clocked in during this time, check your cameras – they were not there. It was unacceptable but the young man that was working was trying his best. This is my second bad experience with this location. I will no longer patronize this location. I’ll drive the extra 4 minutes to Pelham.

The young lady making my sandwich wiped the knife on her clothing, I’m not sure why, then proceed to cut my sandwich with the knife. I said I didn’t want the sandwich. She offered to make me a new one and I declined. She wasn’t rude or disrespectful but they need better training on health code violations. Oh I almost forgot their open sign was off and the workers were in the back. I don’t think they wanted people to think they were open.

Editing my review: in the past few months this store has significantly improved. Thankfully I can come in, get my food, and get out without being out of everything and enough staff is there to manage lines. Glad this store got some help and new management.

I ordered two sandwiches online. When my daughter got there, they told her the order machine wasn’t working and she had to pay for the sandwiches after I had already paid for them online. The employees told her that the money would go back on my card if they weren’t picked up. I knew better. After a back and forth with corporate, It took me a month or more to get my money back. Since this is the only Subway close by, I went there, but ordered there, not online. It was just okay. My daughter went a couple of weeks later and said there were roaches crawling everywhere. I had forgotten about it.

this subway used to be alright. for the past 6 months (at the most), this location has been determined to not take money -not just from me, from many folks. how do i know this? catch the closed sign up in the middle of the day with employees just sitting around inside. the store has straight-up been locked early sometimes. i’ve made multiple visits – different days and different times, only to be told “cash only” / “the credit card machine is down”. today topped everything off for me. went in for some sandwiches – i passed customers leaving on my way in. when i got to the counter, i was told they would have to reset/re-prep everything. i said i could wait, then was told again they would need to reset, but this time they said it with attitude, and shrugged shoulders to boot!

On multiple occasions the Helena, Al 35080 subway has run out of certain items i.e.: Steak, cheese, and most recently all the bread types except wheat with none of them due to running out of their supplies all together, rather just failure to go and thaw/prepare or restock items. The incompetence of these employees or really just their drive to have a time period in which to not work and blow off the customers with lame excuses is outrageous and has turned me away from the store at least 4 or more times.
