It’s kind of a blah day, overcast and rainy, so I thought today was a good day to try Submarine House pizza. I did not call ahead so I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for my pizza, I actually considered just leaving and getting pizza somewhere else because I was hungry and wet from hiking in the rain. I’m so glad I waited, the pizza was good, surprisingly, not the best but it is much better than other local options!

Been going to THIS location since the 80s with my father/family. Back in the day we’d get the Italian sub, but in the last decade+ we’ve been doing the cheesesteaks. Get the red relish on it (only slightly spicy, but so good). The fried mushrooms are excellent. Get the cocktail sauce that comes with them. Not sure if they make it themselves, but has a little black pepper in it that is just so good. Absolutely love this place and I should add their location on Dixie isn’t the same IMO. I even had other family members visit and they said the same. Sorry to the one on Dixie, but this Main Street location is the best.

Mar 10th 2023, Hey, everyone I do not do reviews but this will be my first one. I’m born and raised in Dayton. I have not live there in over 20yrs, but every time I visit I make sure to visit mom and pop shops that I’ve always frequent and love loved growing up. Late night before my flight I decided to ordered a large deluxe half black olive and of course the chicken wings for my family. The pizza was okay but, I had to call about the wings. They were refried (already cooked/then dropped in oil again to reheat/cook) they were terrible to say the least. I called to speak with the manager she was semi polite (but slightly irritated like she get complaints regularly) whom said come the next day because it was late they would be closed if I came back that night. In turn I informed her I would be flying out 6am that morning and her response was to bring wings in to exchange them. How how was I to accomplish this, so while still on the call I ask if my mother whom elderly btw can come for me. She agreed. I accepted the loss honestly. However, my mom finally made it Mar 14 2023 and the staff asked her (my elderly mom) where is the wings… Wow! I’m surprised my mom even remembered to go there honestly. This treatment saddens me. You’ve lost a forever customer!

The food is great. The teezers are so delicious especially with their tzacziki sauce that THEY make there. Also the gyros, OH my goodness, make sure you add Fetta though as it really compliments gyros. The whole super duper cheese steak has ALOT of meat. It’s not the same if you dont get the works. I’m telling you it’s like a good salad with no dressing meaning its still good but the dressing makes it that much better lol you have to at least try it once. Trust me you will come back for more regardless of what you order. It’s kind of addicting if you were to ask me.

My friends and I are regulars here, but my last visit here left me with a bill of $75 and some change, this was ok because I had $78 in my account. A few days go by and the transaction finished posting, I was charged $88. Which overdraft my account, causing me to get hit fees. I left a cash tip, but I assume the guy thought I didn’t tip and wrote himself a tip. Only thing that explains the additional $13 charge.

Been coming here since the to 80s. Best subs in Dayton. Always busy which can cause a wait or bring left on hold for a while…. But ultimately worth it. Very polite and locally owned. Get extra peppers. Yum yum

The subs are HUGE. Meat is cooked and seasoned perfect. Sides are fresh and crisp. They have an amazing pepper sauce just for the subs. Place is as pricey as you make it they have $-$$$ subs. refillable Fountain drinks (eat-in) and nice clean seating. Employees are there to answer your questions.
