Possibly the best old school sandwich shop in Wilmington. A friend that lived near their shop introduced me to Sub Stop 20 years ago and I still love to stop by for my go to sandwich, their “Sub Stopper.” The staff is friendly, personable, and efficient and the food is great. Get the Sub Stopper warm and enjoy with a cold Dr Pepper.

Saw this place on a random Google search while looking for lunch on a service call. It was so good I jumped on another call in Wilmington just so I could go back. Both days the staff was awesome and the food was amazing. If you like Italian subs get the number one. Hot. And I have to say, they are now my favorite cheese steak in the state of NC. I know, high praise, but well earned. It was phenomenal. Cannot recommend enough.

I got me and my manager food here and it was not good at all. I got a turkey and ham sub and he got the burger sub. Both of them were flavorless and not good. Like we literally both tried just the patties of his burger and it tasted like nothing at all and the deli meat on mine were just tasteless. The fries are really good though lol, we both liked them a lot.

Wilmington native for over 30 years. They would get a better review but the food isn’t what it used to b but it’s still really good especially for price. The reason for rest of my stars: if u are gonna eat there , first make sure u either go there by 11 mayb 1115 or start calling it in at 11 or second go there after the lunch rush around 2 if u don’t wanna wait an hour for a sandwich. Hell I called the other day 10 mins after 11 and couldn’t even get em to answer the phone so I left work to mayb go by there or stop somewhere else. Well I went somewhere else cause I drove by and there were mayb 3 people in the place but they couldnt manage to pick up the phone and take an order? I just kept right on driving.I can’t speak much to their evening business cause I’m a grown man that doesn’t eat sandwiches for dinner. The other reason for the stars, the atmosphere is pure chaos if u walk in during that lunch rush. Lastly they seem to have a quite a bit of difficulty as far as service goes . The kitchen people seem good but the front of the house seem like they have a hard time keeping up with orders and staying organized enough to keep orders together going out proficiently whether they are busy or not. I know they or no one else cares but it’ll b a while before I go back just cause they can’t answer the phone when it’s not busy. Besides that it’s better than jersey mikes especially for the price

Went in to get a sub sandwich based on the reviews. Ordered the Super Sub hot all the way to go. It is large enough for two meals. The taste was great but the amount of meat (cappicola ham, salami and ham) and cheese (provolone) was pretty thin, allowing the taste of the garnish to be the major taste of the sub.

Love this place. I’ve been a customer here for years. The only critique I have is they need better hours. Especially on the weekends. Closing 4:00pm on Saturday, really bad hours for the weekend.
