Where do I start? Walking up to the order counter you are greeted by a warm bubbly cashier who’s excited to take your order. The whole staff was extremely excited to see everyone ordering food and were very kind and polite. As someone who generally turns my nose up to BBQ in the past due to not so palatable recipes by other cooks I was very optimistic about the food here. My optimism was rewarded ten fold. The food here is simply amazing. The brisket melts in your mouth and the ribs just fall off the bone. The in house sauce is the star of the show that takes the already amazing flavors to new heights. But let’s not forget the side dishes. The side dishes are just as delightful as the main meats. The baked beans were stellar and the Mac n’cheese is the best I’ve ever had. The best part about the food here is while you get full there is no heavy feeling. Simply put Stubburn BBQ is the best BBQ joint in west Michigan and a welcome addition to the Walker community. Definitely will be returning for more!

There are many BBQ places in West Michigan and a few of them are five star. Of the five star places this one brings the five stars over to top with details in everything they do. Top of the line service. Friendly service that feels authentic, not read from a generic chain restaurant script. The atmosphere is relaxed yet quick paced with purpose. You feel that you are the purpose they are there. Then you get the food and what you thought was your favorite restaurant just got replaced by Stubburn. It’s an experience you will not forget. Very unique wood smoked flavor that penetrates the meat. I love sauces and there are good sauces provided, but the flavor of the meats kept me from indulging in the sauces. I have tried everything on the menu including all the sides and everything is great. Well worth the price.

This is an amazing BBQ joint. The brisket was juicy, tender and had a delicious bark, the ribs were extraordinary. The staff are friendly. Do yourself a favor and wait in that line at noon on Sunday. I look forward to the day that they are able to be open all week.

A Master of his craft. The brisket was moist in the center, a very defined smoke ring around the outside and a delicate, crispy exterior. The smoky flavor was distinct, but not over-powering. Even Johnny Triggs would be impressed.

Competition level wood-fired barbeque in a small family run restaurant. The brisket, pulled pork and sauce are outstanding. They are only open until they sell out so get there early.

I really wanted to give this a 5 star. But the only complaint I have is the high prices for the small amount of food you get. In comparison to other BBQ places in town this place is on the higher end. Food was delicious, however still felt hungry. I appreciate though that we now have a BBQ place on the west side!
