So I went during the Grand Opening of the Midtown Beer Garden, their new location. I got there and the line was decent but not too long. I quickly realized it would take a while to order and also get my food. For me it was worth the wait. I really enjoyed my noodles. Got the Chai Mian with Chicken and the Dumpling special. The food was great and I don’t regret waiting for my noodles. For those experiencing inconsistencies with their food, I would say give them another chance. They’re still figuring things out and they also had the longest line during the Grand Opening.

This place used to be my absolute favorite but after todays visit I’m sadly not sure I’ll be returning. We arrived at 2pm to the new location which is very cute. The new food pod area is really nice and clean. We ordered our food (2 orders of Biang Biang noodles, medium spice) and were told it would be a 30 minute wait which was fine..we’ve learned with this place that good food can take time and there were a few orders ahead of ours. We sat down and waited…and waited…and waited. At 1 hour we checked in with them and we’re told another 10 minutes. After 35 more minutes we finally received our food (we saw 2 other groups get their food before us so they were busy but not super busy). We knew immediately these were not the same quality as before. There was limited sauce, no black vinegar and they were somewhat bland. No spice at all and the medium used to make us sweat which was amazing. The noodles were inconsistent, a few pieces were ok but the majority of pieces were huge, thick and uncooked. How is that possible after almost 2 hours of waiting? It was so disappointing. See included photos of raw noodle dough. For $27 and over an hour wait..not worth the time and such a let down

Saw this place on a list of Portland Must-Eats! So glad I was able to try it on my final day in town. These were THE best noodles I have ever had, but they are definitely very spicy as other reviews have said. I’ve heard that the lines can get very long but I went right after opening so didn’t have that problem. Also very reasonably priced for a plate that could easily serve 2-3 people.

The friendly new owners have seamlessly continued the incredible standards of Stretch the Noodle. One of Portland’s unmissable food carts. The #2 with chicken, medium spicy, is our jam. One order definitely enough for at least 2 people. Get there early!

Excellent hand pulled noodles. Both types of noodles were made in front of us, and both were fantastic. Pork and shrimp dumplings were also some of the best Ive had. Highly recommended! The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and there are a handful of shared public tables. Still worth it.

Long time customer at STN, was kinda bummed about the change of ownership, but we wanted to give it a try and with my conservative expectation, it was surprisingly good. Definitely worth giving it a go if you’re a loyal customer here. Here’s a few changes that I noticed, I understand that the new owners are still developing their operations:

The owner was super nice and it was so fun to watch her make my La Mian order. However, the noodles were ok and the dish lacked a good portion of braised beef. There was only one edible piece of beef and I was left unsatisfied. The broth was amazing though.

Biang biang baby! Up there with the best noodle dishes I’ve ever had. Medium spice was perfect and left me with such a pleasant after taste for hours. Worth the wait!

I’ve always loved this cart but I went for the beer garden grand opening today. I counted the people ahead of me in line. 15 people. It took an hour and a half for their orders to be taken before I could get to the head of the line. I finally got to the front and had to leave because my food wouldn’t have been ready by the time I had to leave which sucks considering I gave myself 2 hours to get dinner. The strange thing is there were 3 people working the cart. With the most expensive meal being $15 I don’t understand how it could be profitable at this pace.
