Oh what a fun place to dine! It’s been a few years since I have eaten here, and I’m happy to say it was just as good. I had the special of the day- Flank steak with chimichurri sauce, polenta and asparagus my companion had the pork schnitzel and house made spatzel and red cabbage. Loved the homemade pretzel and delicious salad. Nice wine selection and excellent service.

Make a reservation, it’s worth it. We got lucky and we’re seated without it.

OMG yum, a great local kolsch and bottled German black beer. Cute atmosphere and really good food. Maybe crazy but I really enjoyed the salad.

This place deserves more than five stars! It was so delicious! We started with refreshing drinks and finished with a three course dinner. The pretzel with beer cheese was divine. The salad was fresh and tasty. The main dish was soooo good!! I only wished it was closer to my house!! It is also located in an old building (bank?) that had character of itself. The restaurant decor and murals were also fabulous! Just go!!!

Amazing, authentic German food!! My husband had the Jagerschnitzel and I had the Bratwurst. The entrees are a 3 course meal with authentic pretzel and salad. Our food was delicious!! And our server was polite and friendly. We will be back!

An excellent meal with great service. We were happy with literally everything about this meal. The bar tender was even gracious enough to make us an N/A version of their seasonal blackberry cocktail. I’ll be thinking of this food for a while! Autumn flavors in a savory dish…

My husband and I ventured into this restaurant because I was looking for a good schnitzel. We were seated right away and the waitress was quick to provide us with menus and get us started on ordering. The port schnitzel dinner was exceptional! It came with a beautiful fresh salad, red cabbage and spaetzle. From the first bite I was delighted with my meal. My husband had the special which was a vegetarian risotto and he was equally happy. Steinhaus really delivers with respect to unique food, made in house and served hot and fresh.

My family and I just spent two weeks traveling around the U.P. We spent two nights in Marquette, and I knew very little about the city beforehand. We absolutely loved our time in Marquette, and Steinhaus was one of the highlights. In particular, the Wurst plate and the Jager Schnitzel were fantastic. Our server was excellent, and the atmosphere and location were top-notch. Would highly recommend a meal here if you visit Marquette!

It doesn’t feel like a German restaurant but it tastes like one. If they didn’t deep fry their Schnitzel I’d give them 5 stars for food. A lighter breading pan fried would be more on point, but the red cabbage, spatzle, and pretzel were on point.

Food was very good. We ordered a few appetizers and a bottle of wine for the table. Things were relatively busy and a number of tables came in after us. This would have been a 4 or 5 star review if it wasn’t for the service. Although all interactions were cordial, I don’t think I’ve ever been ignored for so long at a dining establishment. We waited over two hours with barely a simple acknowledgement of our existence. In addition, during our time of need, the wine was forgotten until we asked for it to be delivered. After a bottle of wine, and over 2 hours, our appetizers arrived! Additional wine needed to be found on our own at the bar. Kitchen was disorganized. Service needs to be sorted.
