First off, the staff was very friendly and helpful. So no complaints there. However, on a Saturday for lunch, the tables were either dirty or had been wiped with a dirty rag (they smelled like feet). My Black & Bleu sub was very lacking in the way of fillings. I had to tell both the cashier and the sandwich maker that I wanted mushrooms (even though the menu board states shrooms come on it), but I am pretty sure there were none on the sandwich. Could not taste any bleu cheese sauce or onions. We also got the loaded baked potato, which was pretty well covered with cheese (hence the 2nd star for “food.”) Four stars because they were friendly – but short one star because the sandwich was not made right. As nice as the staff was – I do not feel we got value for the money so I will not be returning to this location.

The food is good and the staff is super friendly. That being said the restaurant is dirty and when the store was slow they just kinda chilled behind the counter. They were out of several items including tea which is always empty. Took then almost 20 minutes to fill it after 5 reminders. The restaurant is in need of a deep clean and some new equipment after listening to the staff. With notice able shortcuts here makes me wonder what other corners are cut. I love Steak Escape and hope this is remedied sooner than later so I can come back.

Took my four grandchildren by here for lunch after haircuts next door. I let them order first. It took me a minute to realize the young man taking the orders was being rude to my first two gkids to order. Acting snobby and being of no help when asked questions. Rolling his eyes. It was our first time here. My gkids had researched the menu and wanted to go. My youngest 10 year old started tearing up because he was treated as if he was stupid for asking what came on a sandwich. When I realized what was going on I told the kids to come on and we left. Hernando, Ms. has some great restaurants, this isn’t one of them.

I was given my French fries 2 minutes after I order half were cold half were warm with enough grease to fry 3 more batches it was clear they had attempted to give old fries reheated on a 30 dollar order. The sandwiches were good but Luke warm after I had to wait to have fries remade. The help was laughing after i said i would like some fresh fries and they got nasty attitudes just PATHETIC for so much money. Want be back bye steak escape you LOSERS

Sandwich was pretty good but the fries were cold . One thing you may want to tell your young employees, don’t reuse your gloves after you take them off lay them by the register take my money then pick them back up off of the dirty counter to make my sandwich!

Sandwich had little meat. Fries were very over-cooked and came home to the dog. I ordered a grilled chicken salad for me. The menu shows a bowl full of salad and says says the salad is made of spring mix greens. I received a clear to-go box (we were dining in) with a handful of iceberg lettuce and less than 10 small squares of unseasoned chicken. So, I received a side salad with a little chicken on it for $9. When I questioned it, I wasn’t treated very well. No apology and no solution were offered, but 2 excuses that that is the only lettuce they have and the menu hasn’t been updated in a while. I sat to eat it, but could not stomach the idea that it was supposed to be okay that I ordered a grilled chicken salad on spring mix greens for $9 & received a little pile of iceberg with a few small pieces of chicken on top. It wasn’t ok. Our money is precious and so is our time. We chose to give this restaurant a try for the first time and it was also our last. It is very upsetting to pay someone to treat you like a bother, so I asked for the money back on the salad. When I was given a full refund and refused to take it all because my son was eating the pitiful sandwich, I felt like a bother again because someone had to wait while my money was refunded. I’ve worked many years in retail and hospitality and I have always striven to make others feel appreciated. It’s not that hard to do.

My family decided to try Steak escape for the first time ever after seeing it often in town. We placed our order over the phone for two sandwiches and some loaded fries. I initially wanted a healthy choice bowl but was a little bit sad when we were told that the online menu does not match what is made in store. No big deal, we were really hungry and just excited to eat. It was ready very quickly and I went inside to pay. That is where things went south for me. The eating area was empty but looked like a decent place to dine in. I went up for the register and was waiting for the cashier. I noticed that the floors, walls, sinks, stoves and literally everything behind the counter looked very dirty! There was food, grease and grime everywhere I looked up at the ceiling and it was also filthy. I am not super picky at these types of places but I know for sure there has to be a roach infestation with a kitchen that dirty! The condition of the place made me worried about the cleanliness of the food preparation. I paid anyways and went back to my car and looked at google reviews, I saw two other posts mentioning roaches. So although I did not see one, I was not surprised others did. We didn’t even taste the food and tossed it in the trash. Won’t be returning to this place unless it goes through some major cleaning!
