Star diner is not changed much over the last 15 to 20 years . Still have large portions that are reasonably priced. Good selection of lunch and breakfast options without being overwhelmed with choices . Looks the same as it did 15 years ago but clean. Tables need some work as our booth top was clearly slanted and pulling away from the wall . Service is friendly and the food came out quickly. Tried the cheesy potatoes for the first time , not bad but not great . Ordered the chicken and waffle. Well priced at under $10 . The chicken tenders were great but the waffle was doughy in the center but still tasty . I would advise letting them sit on the waffle iron for just a tad longer. My wife for the Philly . The bun is not toasted which quicky became soggy and made the sandwich fall apart , toast the buns and you will have a better tasting sub that will hold up longer . The fries are hand cut and outstanding. Over all a 4/5 . Will be back for sure .

Always big portions!!! I wish they had more options that were Keto friendly. You pay for bread and potatoes. I can’t eat starches. I am not the only one as I noticed more tables with no toast or potatoes.

Ate here for breakfast, nice atmosphere. Food and coffee was great, their thick cut bacon was amazing. Good portion size. Service was excellent. Prices are reasonable.

The food was pretty good. The best thing I had were the made-from-scratch home fries — excellently crisped as I requested. What I did not appreciate were the waitresses outfits with their lowcut tops revealing wayyyy too much (I was afraid they were going to fall out of their top when they bent down over the table) and the too short skirts — which were not flattering on most of the waitresses. A true”diner” of the 50s and 60s does NOT have their waitresses dress in that revealing manner. If only one of the existing reviews would have mentioned how the waitresses were dressed. I never would have taken my grandchildren there.

My husband and I did a Take-Out of a club sandwich, fries, chicken salad sandwich and cole slaw. It was OK. My bread was extremely dry. The place is rather run-down looking….and dark. The service for take-out was good.
