I’d expect a bit more for a $100 menu, and we tried everything. We all found it was generally too greasy (and we’re European used to Italian cuisine, one of us was Italian, we are not afraid of butter and olive oil!), some did not even finish their plates. The starters were great (fantastic crispy pork belly), but the rest was just okay for the price.

Came here for my birthday dinner and it was just ok. For a $92 pre fixe menu, it was underwhelming and didn’t hit the spot. My partner and I got complementary dishes so we tried the entire menu. It started out ok with the asparagus/pork belly, got good with the delicious focaccia and salad, and then seemed to peak with the pappardelle and gnocchi. It was very unfortunate with the entrees. I don’t know what was off about the beef and shrimp, but the flavors were not pleasant. It was too heavy and I didn’t want to go back to keep eating it. The desserts were good – I loved the panna cotta. Also only giving it 3 stars because the service wasn’t great – we were being constantly hovered. The servers kept rushing us and asking to clear our plates while we still had more than half the dish left.

Wine selection was great. Food was quite obscure but edible. Dessert was the best out of the entire dinner course. Service was decent – I say decent because it felt like they were rushing us to finish our food to get us out of the restaurant. Also, a restaurant of this caliber should’ve asked their customers if they’re allergic to anything, but they did not.

I can safely say I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant awarded a Michelin star. I have visited many over the years and in different countries, but none of them were a let-down until SPQR.

Excellent place to enjoy a weekday pasta tasting menu for much less than $100. Their pastas are exquisitely prepared and sauces so good, I kept asking for bread to soak up every last bit. If pasta isn’t your favorite, that’s okay – their octopus appetizer is one of the best preparations of that protein that I’ve ever had. It’s a definitely must order. The broccoli and hen of the wood mushroom appetizer is also a clear winner.

Reasonably priced tasting menu with generous portions. Ask for a seat at the Chef’s Counter if you want to see how the dishes are prepared.

The food was delicious. We came during brunch and it was basically empty! I was pretty surprised. We had the tasting menu. The price is not too crazy but with a drink and taxes, it added up. My favorite dish was the squid ink pasta with octopus and mussels. I don’t usually like olives but this dish was delicious. The biscuits were so good too. The last dish was also really good.
