I enjoyed our most recent visit to this restaurant. There are two sections that you can sit in. One is the restaurant bar area with dining seating and the other area is a restaurant only area. There is also a patio that has folding shutters that are closed during the cold season and open during the summer. There is a lot of room and when we went during lunch time it was not crowded at all. The bar was much busier than the dining area. They were short-staffed but the waitress tried her best to be attentive. I saw another couple do a quick lunch visit but they knew what they wanted right away and left. Our visit was a little on the long side but was pleasurable because it was a lunch date. If I was going in for lunch break from work I would have gone into the bar area where it was busier but would have a quicker turnaround. I had the seafood place and it was pretty good. My wife had a burger and onion rings. Everything was filling. As you can see from the pictures it is not modern and needs little remodeling (90s decor) but they warmth of the service really made this place shine.

On a work trip. Four of us came to this location, hotel next door. We told bartender, Debbie, that the bill was wrong. I had 3 beers and the other male in our group had approx 5. The bill showed 11, so we started dissecting the bill. $240 later for a short evening, we felt was a little over the top. So 3 of us chipped in cash, the other person put the rest on their card. A week goes by…..no ‘Sportsman’ charge on the card. Yet it had Apple, Best Buy, and clothing store on their account. Good old Debbie did a number as the best bartender in Camarillo. Good luck!!!!

Went here for dinner, with our grandchildren since it’s next door to our hotel. The complimentary rolls were delicious. The rest of our food was also quite good. The ambience and decor feel outdated. It seemed like many of the customers were “Regulars” . The prices were reasonable. We had a “Good”, but not “Great” experience. Our grandchildren really liked the “Scrooge” in front (see photo)

The Lamb Cutlets were amazing. A little undercooked, but very good Some of the best I’ve had. The baked potato was okay. Served the way I asked but was not made up. All the add-ons were on the side.

You really need to go on Thursdays for their Beef Stroganoff. It’s better than Mom used to make!! But seriously, it’s probably the best I’ve ever had. They have both a cup or bowl. I order rice to pour it over as there aren’t a lot of noodles, just the right amount!!
