Driving along Penn Avenue the smell of the place will draw you in, and the quality of the cooking and inviting outdoor space will have you happy that you stopped in and tried it.

Understandably low on inventory the night before closing for 2 days, but having grown up in Western NY, the Brisket on Weck might be one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in Pittsburgh. I will be back!

Everything was amazing. I’d rank in this order. 1.Ribs. 2. Pulled pork. 3. Sausage 4. Brisket. Sides of potato salad and greens were both exceptional. Banana pudding was really good too with a subtle hint of smoke. I’ll be back.

A quick Google search for “top rated barbecue in Pittsburgh” identified Spork Pit, which was convenient to the coffee shop I happened to be in at the time, so I drove over for a taste. After said taste, I have to ask: who in the hell rated this place so highly? What hockey puck-density meat have they previously choked down? Which barbecue joint in which town hurt them? or did they simply all take collective leave of their senses?

Where do I begin? Extremely clean, excellent customer service and the food was delicious! We went to Spork with an appetite so that we could appreciate and taste the flavor of everything. The ribs were tender and succulent, not a coffee drinker but this was my top BBQ sauce. The collards were tender with a robust amount of spice through every bite. The Mac was delicious, creamy, and cheesy. We also enjoyed the cornbread, chili, sausage, and smoked turkey. I highly recommend Spork and thank you for your amazing hospitality!

What an amazing place! We absolutely LOVED it. Food…Bomb! Atmosphere…Bomb! Staff…Bomb! After meeting the owner we decided to go check out his other restaurant across the street and we most definitely were not disappointed.

That was good! I had the Crawford. The bread was great, soaking up all those juices. Also a good selection of craft beers. Too bad I was to full to have dessert.

New permanent home of Sporks BBQ cart, beautifully redone service station with local beers and an extensive outdoor patio. Texas style BBQ at it’s finest!

So so good and almost all gluten free (besides the bread or Mac and cheese). The brisket, frose, and Peter are all amazing!

This was my first time there today. I was disappointed. The greens taste like they were soaked in vinegar. I couldn’t taste the greens. The ribs were over marinaded, and the bbq sauce taste like a marinade in and of itself. I’m giving a 3 because the presentation was nice and the quality of the food was not bad. Hopefully this was an off day.
