Amazing food. Great decor. Reasonable pricing. Attentive service. Can’t ask for much more! The only drawbacks to our visit were the place being virtually empty (affecting the ambiance) and the menu being a bit confusing. The waiter could have taken a few moments (since we had never been there) to suggest a few items and walk through how the menu was organized. And a wine list would have been helpful. If they fix these things this place will do great business. Spicy Beef was fantastic, along with pork buns.

I read most of the comments, many people gave only one star just because of the service instead of complaining about the food, one even just gave one star because the restaurant has no delivery service, it’s not so fair! So we decided to give it a try! It’s quite empty, but the food we ordered were very delicious! And we had no problem with the service, our dishes were prepared fairly quickly too.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in San Diego. You can get anything on the menu as a lunch special, and it comes with egg drop soup, rice, a cucumber side, broccoli, and a spring roll. San Diego has been lacking in good Chinese food until now.

Was in San Diego on a business trip from Texas, had the pleasure of eating here towards the end of the week. The food was AMAZING, definitely will remember to stop at Spicy House anytime I come back. Would recommend to anyone who likes authentic Chinese food.

Great service! Authentically made and so tasty!!! Our family had Thanksgiving dinner here; the portions were huge, the staff was sweet and the atmosphere was clean and trendy. Chinese food at its best in lovely Coronado. Great place to do take out or dine in.

The waiters were very friendly but the steamed dumplings were overlooked to the point of mushiness. The sautéed green beans were salty and the Dan Dan Noodles were salty as well to the point of being inedible. I travel to China ten to twelve times a year. The menu looked authentic but the food was far from authentic or edible. Two stars are for the waiter’s friendliness.

This is a good addition to Coronado. The service is good-it has the feeling (in a good way) of a family run restaurant. I loved the pot stickers and on another visit had the wonton soup. It’s a new restaurant so they are working hard to fit in and to do things right. So if it isn’t right…ask-don’t leave and then complain on line!

The food is awesomely tasty !! We ordered a hot pot (chicken) ,fried rice ( chicken ,prawn ,eggs) and lamb kabob .except the lamb kabob ,everything else was perfect ..the fried rice was my favorite .The ambience was very nice , it had bar also ,the restrooms were clean . The hot pot chicken came with a burner which was constantly keeping the food warm ..it was interesting !prices were way too reasonable to forgive the kabob .don’t order that ! Rest both the items were flavourful!!

Our favorite chinese resteraunt in San Diego. Everything is very authentic, which (according to other reviews) apparently surprised some people who expected a more fast food style chinese resteraunt. Expect spicy and bold flavors (it is a Szechuan resteraunt after all!) The xiao long bao (shanghai style steamed dumplings) are the best in San Diego and comparable to the ones you can get in Shanghai! I bring my family here frequently, and have always had excellent service. The take-out service is immaculate as well, with high quality containers and huge portions. Coronado is lucky to have Spicy House!
