It’s been a while since I had such amazing southern shrimp and grits. Amazing!!!! Great service, great conversations, and staff that went above and beyond. Next time I’m in Tennessee I will visit again

Delicious addition to Rutherford County restaurant options! The owners have been catering & had a food truck for few years already in middle TN. Now we have The Southern Spoon to enjoy dining in. Breakfast served all day. Lunch begins at 10:00. Coffee ☕️ fresh all day. Delicious unique desserts. Southern food served in their big menu. Catering still available!! Open till 5:00. Visit them soon. Delicious!! I will be back!!

Average at best. I had really high hopes for this place since the reviews are very good. I went at 12:15 and only 4 patrons were dining at the time. Upon entry I was greeted with a friendly hello and was kindly told about the menu and ordering process. I ordered to go and got the smoked chicken thighs, green beans, and mac & cheese. All of this came to under $17 and did not come with a dinner roll or cornbread. I was not shocked about the price as I viewed the menu online so the expectation for that was already set. The food smelled delicious and provided a welcome aroma as the anticipation to consume my lunch was building for my short drive home. Unfortunately , the food was a bit underwhelming. Maybe it was an off day but I was not blown away as previous reviews would suggest. The chicken thighs were tough and had to be cut with a steak knife. I’m not used to dark meat having such an unforgiving texture. To be fair, the flavor was good, however. The green beans were okay and the mac & cheese was actually pretty good. My overall experience was fair and feel the quality of the food should be a little higher to justify the hefty prices. That meal should have cost around $9-$11 max. I do hear the breakfast is supposed to be very good and will certainly go back to try it.

My husband and I stopped by this afternoon without really knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was elevated southern comfort food; refined and delicious. We shared the southern poutine and champagne chicken macaroni and cheese followed by the banana pudding beignets. The owners were so welcoming and the atmosphere was charming. My husband is already hoping to go back tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Great new place for Smyrna! They are friendly and make it easy to order – food came out quickly and was delicious. Real syrup with the chicken & waffles. Children’s meals are reasonably priced. Family friendly with a cheerful vibe- attentive staff. I’ll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed the breakfast so decided to go back & try the lunch plates. The collard greens & relish are delicious. I regret having to say that had to have been the worst fried catfish I have ever tried to eat in my life. I threw it away after 3-4 bites. It was swimming in grease & had a rubbery texture. $20 wasted. I can say Customer service has been been A-1 each time I’ve visited. Will likely try the breakfast again.

Absolutely amazing food! I had the steak my wife had the brisket sandwich absolutely amazing! I also had the sweet potato cornbread, that was amazing. Y’all the food is really good. The coffee is great too! But the best thing about this place is the people. It’s locally owned and that makes a huge difference. It’s a great family atmosphere. Can’t say enough good things about this place and these wonderful people.

This place has absolutely amazing food! Southern comfort food with a gourmet twist, I promise you’ve never had anything like it From the Nashville hot chicken and waffles to the banana pudding beignet’s Everything is so wonderfully tasty! Come on in and try this place out, they even have A barista by the name of Tyler that has a list of espresso drinks that would rival any of your favorite coffee shops! Make sure you say hello to the owners Adam and crystal they would love to hear your feedback.

What an amazing experience, I totally agree with a previous reviewer, “southern comfort food elevated. I had the Carolina Hot Chicken and Waffles and a Cubano coffee. My wife had the mild Chicken and Waffles and a Marsala Chai latte. We were both loving every minute of the meal. The Carolina hot chicken was not what you’d expect, it’s Carolina Reaper flavored without the Reaper heat, paired with sweet potato waffles. In the words of Man VS Food’s Adam Richman “Oh my goodness, oh my goodness”. I wish there was more. But the portion was perfectly sized to where I wasn’t overly full, but satisfied. Now on to the ambience, southern style music overhead, comfortable seats, although I felt kinda like I was at the Children’s table. It was comfortable. The men’s bathroom was clean and nicely decorated, see photos. We will be coming back, often.
