First off, the wait time was 1 hour. I read mixed reviews on this place. A lot more good then bad so I was really looking forward to some southern style cooking. We finally got seated and my table was literally 2 feet from the front door. The place is small and intimate but a little too small for the amount of traffic the place gets. As far as the food, I would say it was very flavorful. I ordered the fried fish, Mac and cheese, collard greens and cornbread. I also ordered sweet tea. None of the drinks were free refills which I thought was strange. Our waitress was amazing, I believe her name was Ebony and she is from my neck of the woods, the D.M.V. She was very friendly and efficient, she checked on us making sure we didn’t need anything. my biggest complaint was the actual atmosphere and the food was very pricey. 2 meals totaled around 90 dollars. And there is a 18% gratuity added on to every check. My wife ordered turkey chops, Mac n cheese, green beans, yams, and cornbread. All in all, I’m not sure if I would try it again. Although the food was good, it was rather pricey for me.

My husband and I decided to go to Atlanta for a weekend getaway. And when I say getaway, I mean a food vacation! On the entire trip there we were online trying to figure out where we were going to eat once we got there, being that we got ready late, we decided to go to Southern fire kitchen (they stayed open late and their kitchen stayed open until 11. We called a little earlier just to make sure we didn’t need reservations and this place is pretty much walk-in first come first served which is something that I liked about it… We got there around 10pm, it’s located in a shopping center on Buford Highway,with lots of parking. I could tell there were people sitting outside and waiting to go inside (which is most times a good sign). We put our name on the list and were seated in about 45 minutes. While waiting, we chatted with the staff and the owner, who were all extremely friendly and made the wait just feel like we were at a family gathering!

The atmosphere and vibes were nice. It’s kind of small on the inside and the tables were close together. Overall the food was pretty tasty. My favorite were the lamb chops. For them to be so small, they were packed with a lot of good flavor.

Went on a week day so no wait for me! I had the lamb chops with sweet potatoes and collard greens. I also had a lemon drop. My friend had turkey chops, macaroni, and cheese and sweet potatoes. The lamb chops were out of this world. Delicious. Service was good. The sides were fine. Good vibes and good music. I’d return

This was a great experience and the food didn’t disappoint! This was my first time. I had wings with mac and cheese and candy yams. My sister had grilled salmon, yellow rice, and collargreens, plus corn bread. Everything on my plate was excellent, but my sister’s rice and salmon weren’t well seasoned. However, the collar greens and corn bread were tasty. Overall, the experience was awesome…highly recommended!!

Ordered in person, ordering online and calling was not available. I ordered the four piece fried chicken dinner with mac & cheese, yams & cornbread.I Waited 15 minutes for the food. Food is great! Great portions, very flavorful, but the only thing I didn’t like was the chicken wings were a little bit smaller than I thought but other than that service,speed, and taste is perfect.(this was my first try) I’ve really been on a hunt for this kind of food and this is pretty much my favorite right now.Thanks!

The food was nice, not over seasoned, but could receive some more. From all the reviews, I was expecting my mouth to be burning, basically none, but maybe it’s just what I ordered. The biggest negatives are that you can’t call in to go even if their online is down, not a 3-star atmosphere, and you will be waiting for a sit down or to go. Ordered to-go fried chicken with double fries and largr fried shrimp with mac n cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. P.S. large shrimp isn’t actually large here

10 across the board!! Our waitress of the day was Jessica, A1 service, the food didn’t take long, and the atmosphere was a very good soul feeling!! The food was A1, very high quality, and full of flavor. Personally the Cajun Lobster Pasta and the Lamb chops are my top tier favorite but everything is equally good. I wanna gate-keep this restaurant but Ima make sure everybody come check out this place lol.

Ima start by saying the service was great Selina was amazing I will always remember her for her not to be from Atlanta sis got great southern hospitality. We were a party of 7 and nobody had to ask for nothing. The food was great I had the greens, Mac and the orka with fried cat fish and everything was amazing I will definitely be back the only thing I didn’t like was the restaurant was hot as if the Ac wasn’t working but other than that everything was great I will be back and asking for Selina.
