My waitress smelled awful she was nasty looking and I literally lost my appetite. I understand having no teeth but to not be clean is disgusting in food. I loved eating here until this. I can’t stomach returning.

If your looking for some good home cooked food this is your spot! Breakfast took me back to granny’s kitchen table!! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Establishment is clean kid friendly and spacious enough for wheelchairs.

We have ordered from here before with no issues and today is a different story. If I could give no stars I would!

Southern Crossroads in Lenoir, NC, is an absolutely excellent restaurant! They are located in a former Shoney’s restaurant building, and the atmosphere immediately takes you back to a happier time and place. Nobody does it as well as Betty and her staff. For many years, I enjoyed the Mountain House restaurant that Betty operated in Boone. Now that she is in Lenoir, I drive there quite often just to have her delicious breakfast plates and other delicious foods. It is well worth the drive and never disappointing. Not only is the food delicious, the staff is always welcoming and friendly. The overall experience is great, and I can say there is no place in Boone that can compare with it for breakfast or any other meal. I have told many people who don’t know about it, and they drive from Boone as well and tell me of their similar delightful experiences. Prices are very reasonable, and the portions definitely fill you up. I appreciate Betty and her hardworking staff for giving us a great place to go for a good meal these days.

The chicken tenders on my waffles tasted very fishy, couldn’t eat them. The special today was flounder, so they must’ve fried the chicken and fish in the same oil. It was so bad.

Great little breakfast place. I haven’t tried anything other than breakfast menu items, but everything I have tried has been fresh and tasty. Service is always friendly and quick. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great tasting breakfast.

The breakfast is wonderful. Sometimes you want more than fast food. The ability to order your eggs any way you like. The country ham is delicious and one of my favorites. Daily specials a plus, one of the few places you can get good country food in Lenoir.

Go here if you want Betty Austin to hit you in the face then tell you to shut up when you say that is not acceptable behavior!
