Stopped at the South Street Diner due to having seen it on the Today Show a few weeks ago for thie Boston Cream pancakes…it was a party of 9 of us. One of the bunch of us ended up ordering the BC pancakes…they were quite a treat and very dessert like, and oh so good!! I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich. It was very good, the only thing missing was the raspberry preserves…but it was on point and delicious. It came with diced potatoes which were very good, but a tad salty, but still good. One had the club sandwich and a Texas burger and the rest ordered breakfasts and two grilled cheese sandwiches. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Three got chocolate frappes, those were the bomb! I highly recommend you try one! Our server was super friendly, helpful, and prepped some of the drinks, including the frappes. I didn’t catch his name, but he had ear plugs and tattoos. Super cool dude. Another shout out to the chef, thank you for your cooking skills. I highly suggest you give South Street a try. Next time I’m in Boston, I definitely will.

Cute old school sort of feeling as you walk-in this diner car. Small, only a handful of booths. We sat in the last booth, all the way near the bathrooms lol. Chocolate milk was made with love. Asked for corn beef hash to be cooked well done, it was not. However the breakfast flavors were still delicious good. Oh yeah and the Boston Cream Pancakes that others recommended, eh, pancakes were tasty but it was too sweet for me as a whole meal.

The waitstaff was SO kind and friendly . The food was normal, good diner food, nothing crazy. I was hungry and left satisfied with my meal. Leanne (I can not remember her name for the life of me) was so kind and went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable

South Street Diner, Is a small (5 booth if I counted correctly) diner, VERY close quarters. It’s a classic time capsule, the food was very standard wasn’t necessarily extraordinary,.

Firstly the service was so nice ; especially our waiter for the ten mins waiting for the food . So the burger was okay French fries were good .but the pickle was the best I had in a long time . Also the lemonade was the best I ever tasted in years considering I drink it everywhere . Would recommend the diner before or after travels for fresh quick food . Will be back again .The salad was good ;just need Roman lettuces . Very good portions for price was full .

The cause of being an out of towner and making too many wrong turns led me to this magnificent gem of a diner. South Street Diner has everything right going for it. There was a line to enter the diner at 2 am and doormen to facilitate a smooth and steady transition into the diner. The food is very fresh, looks great and tastes amazing when you crave a late evening 2am breakfast meal. Last but not to say the least, from the line cooks to the serves were excellent. It has The most chill vibes from their synergy of providing above and beyond style of excellent service. I was very happy just watching the ladies work like the ants do without any qualms if someone accidently ordered twice. You see everything being cooked in front of you and the sounds and smells of sizzling food orders were making me crave for it even more. It was just fluid and everyone got along in harmony with a high volume of food orders being requested and everyone sang along with the music that was jammin’ from the jukebox. The customers were singing in tune from separate tables. Beautiful! I wish all places were like this. It has the real family feel while dining there and not just the feed the people and grab your cash kind of deal. The prices are affordable $-$$ for an individual order. This was an accident that turned into a blessing. I was sad leave to continue my journey home because a few more wrongs turns were awaiting me ahead. Lol

If you want to have a nostalgic experience in Diner car eatery, this is your destination. The food is cooked to order, Michelle of S. Boston is a sweetheart of a server, & the whole ‘tiny Pullman car’ experience is an era gone by. I’m so glad that they’re still in operation after all these decades later. A Boston landmark, one shouldn’t over-look. Hope they’ll be in business for more years to come.

As a tourist this Diner was fantastic, highly recommended. The Boston cream pancakes were amazing, service was great! I would definitely visit again a short walk from the station and close to the Boston tea party boat!

Awesome experience. Great food and service. Huge menu for such a small place. Everything is cooked to order. Very different experience if you come at 8am or 2am! Only 24hrs place in Boston for 1.5million students!
