I heard about ‘South China Buffet’ from some friends that stopped by about five (5) months ago as they passed thru the area. Today, 12 Aug, 2023, I made a three (3) hour trek to check it out myself … spoiler alert … wasn’t worth the trip, at least today it wasn’t.

This place was very clean and well laid out. Plenty of room to move around getting to this buffet. Usually I can pick four or five items on a buffet that I like and the rest is not good, but this buffet everything I tried except one item was something I liked. The boneless pork rib was the only thing I didn’t like.

So I was told this is the only Chinese Buffet in Lebanon, PA so I wanted to give it a try. For a while the place was closed due to being burned down from a kitchen fire. They finally opened back up and this is my first time here and will most likely be my LAST time here. I heard that before the closing of the business that the food quality was terrible. I thought maybe with the reopen they with improve the quality of everything; I was completely wrong. The options are little to nothing (they have two rows of hot food items and one row of dessert items). Everything is super salty so you drink more water than you eat food. Seems like everything has just be sitting in the warmers for hours and have completely dried out. They have rice sitting in two big rice cookers that have probably been sitting in there for hours. The atmosphere is obviously outdated. I go on and on but what’s the point? For $14.99 on a Sunday it’s just not worth it. Now, They did bring out fresh food as soon as I emptied one of the food items in a warmer which was good. Although the Mongolian/Hibachi grill was small, it’s your best bet for anything fresh/hot and somewhat tasty. You can check it out for yourself but I promise you will not be satisfied.

Good food and service…a $7.20 lunch special…a very large portion. A combo meal at McDonald’s is $10+. Here you’re getting real food. Don’t understand a rating below 4. The roast pork egg foo Yung is excellent as well as chicken or pork with broccoli. Also enjoyed the buffet…price stays same on Sat. Try this restaurant!

My go to place for hangover Chinese. Visit at least once a week for takeout lunch off the buffet. Great price. Clean restaurant. Good food. If it wasn’t for the snobby cranky woman working the register it would be absolutely perfect.

Food is just OK. Need to be careful what time of day to make sure food is fresh. Also they place un-like foods near each other making the whole experience unappetizing. The place is generally dirty and clearly has seen better days.

I’ve went to this establishment multiple times, and every single time I’ve had the same server (young lady with bangs) and she offers the worst service. Acts like she doesn’t care about her job at all and disrespectful attitude. She doesn’t even refill the drinks. Always give her 0 tip and she complains to the other workers as if she’s shocked. Maybe if she did her job she would get a better tip. I don’t plan on returning.

A huge variety to choose from on the buffet, it is charged by weight roughly around 6$ a pound, Dessert bar is phenomenal, If your a seafood eater then you must try it out. Food is fresh and the overall restaurant was clean and staff had on gloves while attending buffet. The young guy that checked us out was awesome !
