We love BBQ. This place had post oak smoked meat, which is unique. The brisket was very wet but tasty. The pulled pork was my kind of pork. It was very juicy. The smoked flavor was on the lighter side. The sauce was way too sweet for us. The vinegar cole slaw was also too sweet for us. We prefer a little more vinegar flavor. You can’t go wrong eating here. Note: This is outdoor dining.

Passing through San Antonio and couldn’t decide on Tex-Mex or BBQ so I went to South BBQ & Kitchen and had both. The pulled pork and brisket tacos were each delicious and the creamed elote was a perfect side.

The BBQ was great. Had the full pound of brisket and it was very juicy. Came with all the fixings and the tots were amazing.

The owner was friendly and helpful. He was prompt with the food. The BBQ brisket was top notch. The flour tortillas tasted homemade and were soft, chewy, and delicious. My husband loved the baracho beans were flavorful and a little spicy. I loved the creamed elote(corn) was so good that I could have ordered a second helping. The outdoor seating area was old and down home but comfortable enough. He had picnic tables and patio sets for seating. We enjoyed it.

Overall, pretty good spot. Hole in the wall feel, with small and simple menu, but very delicious. It is pricey, especially for the brisket, but unfortunately it’s not much different than elsewhere.

We finally had a chance to eat here and it was great! We had the brisket sandwich with chips. The meat was very tender and juicy. The potato was excellent as well. The meat doesn’t need bbq sauce but they give you some and that is great as well! We will be back again! We have to make sure to come before they sell out. It’s a great place to come after a bike ride or round of golf at Riverside course.

This place is one of the top BBQ spots in San Antonio. The quality of the meat cuts and side dishes is outstanding, specially the brisket, short ribs and bean sides. I fully recommend this site and would go back anytime. Enjoy!

Food was great and the service was good! There’s no a/c since it’s only outdoor seating, so ordering to go is HIGHLY recommended.

Wow this place is good. The brisket was the fatty kind but that’s a good thing. We got a pound and a half and it was a lot! We also got a pound of pork ribs. (My favorite) they were meaty and peppery. The meat didn’t really need sauce but bbq sauce makes everything better. We also tried the tater tot casserole which is great and the corn was really good too. I think the potato salad was a bit dry but my girlfriend liked it. We also got the banana pudding and oatmeal cookie. Both were great.

The brisket was phenomenal! It did not need any sauce and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was with a group of 8 and everyone was raving about their food.
