Their scallops is the best. Perfectly cooked and seasoning. Fresh and tasty. My favorite seafood restaurant in town.

Good food! The only problem we had was the place was too busy and small and it was difficult to move around/walk. We sat in the basement and it was very hot. Otherwise if you are willing to wait for a table and don’t mind being in a crowded place then the food is definitely a must try.

Be aware of the wait. This place is sooooo good, the wait is out of control. Thankfully the pager you get has a long range and you can walk around. The restaurant is tiny so be aware that you will very close to other people. The waitresses are crazy busy so don’t expect them to not be racing around everywhere. Now, the food… the bread is super fresh and has that wonderful sourdoughy chew. The oysters are fresh and delicious. The scallops have good flavor and a beautiful sear on them but, they are not the best I have ever had in so far as flavor. They are served in a garlic wine sauce with fresh veggies. Now, the cioppino. It is a huge serving with half of the ocean in it. This dish is definitely shareable, there is no way one person can eat it all. The flavors in it are rich and the spice warms your mouth but doesn’t deter.enjoy this dish with friends

Had the pleasure of dining at Sotto Mare in San Francisco and it’s truly a gem! While their seafood selection is top-notch, their Cioppino is next-level fantastic. A rich, hearty bowl that’s packed with fresh flavors from the sea, it truly captures the essence of Italian seafood. If you’re in the city and craving authentic Italian seafood, this place is a must-visit.

Absolutely 5 out of 5! The restaurant is very welcoming. There is a good atmosphere inside where the staff is attentive and happy to help with anything.

The oysters are the best in town! The pastas are amazing as well. Would love to try more dishes when I’m in town again. There is a long wait but you get a buzzer to walk around with until your table is ready.

Unfortunately, my experience at Sotto Mare Restaurant was less than satisfactory. While the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and the staff seemed friendly, the food left much to be desired.

Some of the best seafood I had in a while! What a lovely meal full of flavours, attentive service and amazing atmosphere! There wasn’t a dish that we didn’t like. I’m not an ouster lover, but even that was delicious! Seafood cioppino was to die for: so much seafood in delicious sauce! Clam chowder obviously amazing! Octopus a bit too tough, but crab cakes were perfect! Seafood pasta was great too! And beautiful end to our dinner was pans cota and tiramisu.

First thing I recommend make reservations or you’ll be waiting for long time.

Amazing food! Very small and loud (in a good way) restaurant, with many people coming in all the time. You can eat outside, inside and at the bar where you can see the chefs making your food live. The linguini with seafood is to die for! Beverages are expensive though. One big disadvantage is that you can find bugs walking on a floor.
