It’s a very cool rooftop bar with an awesome view. I had the S.A.S.S. margarita, it was delicious. We didn’t have food.

We missed the sunset but it would’ve been awesome from the rooftop. It does say spirits and cocktails, they did have a Lotta fun looking cocktails and spirits but I sometimes like to drink red wine actually that is my drink of choice. They did have (one) Cabernet served to COLD, not chilled, and that tiny little bottle, was 25 so it would’ve cost us 50 for a full size bottle and that’s what I ended up having, two of the smaller bottles. Really wasn’t worth 50 but I shared. Great location, great view, but it would’ve been nice if they would’ve stocked up on some more food because they seem to be out of a lot of choices. All in all we had a great time.

Absolutely loved the view. We live in Gilbert, and I’ve wanted to see the sunset from their balcony. The service was great. The menu was ok. We had burgers and happy hour drinks. Unfortunately, there are not many options for happy hour. The downside was many snowbirds this time and hard to get in.

Sotol provides the perfect setting for an early evening happy hour. Watch the sunset as you look out at the Watertower in downtown gilbert. The shrimp Avocado salad and steak tacos are amazing!

The one drink I got was good but pricy my friends did not enjoy her drink that much. The fillet mignon tacos had way to much.. lime or something? I could quite place but it was over powering the meat.

Food is pricey here, and some portions were surprisingly small. Make sure to ask questions on how many people the items will feed before ordering. Drinks were also just ok. I felt they were prettier than they were tasty. It’s a nice location, and a great spot on a cool desert evening to people watch the downtown Gilbert crowd. It’s quite a climb up the stairs to get to this place, so be prepared if you have anyone with physical restrictions in your group.

Sotol was nice experience, the rooftop setting is unique to the Gilbert area and I hope more rooftop dining opens up in the future. We went for happy hour, from 4-6pm. The HH is drinks only, two old fashions (one with chocolate bitters), well drinks, a copper mule and wine; no food is included. We tried the tostada’s and the cactus paddles and fried yucca, the food was very good and boasted a nice flavor and texture balance. I recommend the tostadas. The service was nice but fairly slow. And the overall ambiance and setting decor is lacking a little. For the price I paid for three tostada’s and two drinks, I expected more than tiled tabletops, fake plants and wooden benches with cushions that slide off. I may check it out again to see if anything has changed up at all in the future.

Let’s start with the steak tacos …they were THE BEST steak tacos I remember having. I can’t wait to go back for more. The drinks were pretty good. We had a few before finding the right drink, but when we did, we were satisfied for sure (Sorry, I can’t remember was we ended up with, but it was some sort of mule drink, which I forgot to take pics of). Pictured, is the mojito, which I would only recommend if you’re not looking for a strong drink. It wasn’t what we’d hoped for, but the bartender made up for it with the mule drink for sure. I’m definitely going back.

Gee, this place has so much potential. Drinks are good, but pricey and food was pretty decent. I know a Friday is busy and there are big parties, however waiting for as long as we did. Never getting refills or second drinks without asking multiple times, kinda upsetting. I feel there should have been some kind of response since I know how these go, but nothing. But really bad service over and over. I would not go again because of the service, sadly.
