Superb Japanese, a fantastic outpost of not less superb Austin location. Every dish we had was amazing, a conversation starter in itself, we tried almost all the cold starters, the specials was also a long list of different dishes, which will ensure a repeat visit will not be the same experience. Service was flawless, the manager was extremely attentive and ensured we had a wonderful experience. Truly outstanding and glad there is competition to Uchi in this part of town as Uchi became a bit too arrogant, we did not have to wait 45 minutes past our reserved time, we were seated right away. We will be back.

Soto is an absolute must in Houston! This restaurant offers one of the finest dining and hospitality experiences I’ve enjoyed in a long time. If you’re new to the area, you’ll quickly discover that Soto is a haven for exceptional dining. The culinary delights at Soto were incredibly delectable, and each dish on the menu was executed to perfection. The ingredients were impeccably fresh and bursting with flavor. The staff’s joyful accommodation added to the overall experience. Soto specializes in sushi, even offering an impressive Omakase option. Among the highlights were the mouthwatering tempura lobster, the exquisite Kobe beef and black truffle risotto, a personalized lychee mule, and the unforgettable miso Chilean Seabass.

Cruising Westheimer on a random Tuesday, we stumbled upon Soto. Arrived without reservation and mild expectations but to my surpise, I think I may have found my next gem of a sushi spot. We fired off several options to the waiter and honestly, everything we tried was fresh, unique and simply delicious. Wagyu A5 nigiri, crunchy salmon, and hamachi apple were faves. They treated us to the homemade potato chip nigiri to end our meal. Chef’s kiss to an already wonderful experience. Prices and portions align with comparable quality spots so ignore the naysayers who should stick to happy hour gimmicks.

Excellent food, Excellent waitress, went with favorite youngest daughter, very expensive, not busy, and very loud music (which is the only thing I would change). Otherwise, it’s about $150/person. The Japanese special fish menu is fantastic. Def get some yummies from there. See the pics, it’s all lovely.

It was a bad experience from the entry point on. First impression is last impression for a reason. The front desk instantly started by saying “ For next time, please book for 5 people on reservation”. Not a great customer service tone for a place like Soto. I pointed her and said did u not read my comment where i mentioned 3 adult seats and 2 kids? She continued to argue yes she saw that but next time book for number of people.

This cozy restaurant has left me the best impression. Hospitable host, friendly staff, delicious dishes. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. Chef Yoshi and Jennifer are attentive and supper nice. Food is absolutely amazing. I enjoy every single bite. However, The price is a bit steep compared with the other sushi places. If you want a special night out and are willing to pay a litte more for your amazing dishes, high quality fresh sushi this is the great place to go.

Awesome services from our waiter, Timmy and the manager, Jennifer. They were both very accommodating and helpful with guiding us on what to order as it was our first time there. The restaurant was clean with an amazing decor. Love the bar area. The sushi was fresh and delicious. It was a unique and pleasant experience. We will try the Omakase next time for sure!

The raw fish here is so fresh and how everything is prepared.. you can tell they really value quality and service. I ordered the white tiger makimono roll (the flavour is crazy good), fatty salmon, blue fin tuna, flounder and yellow tail. The flounder wasn’t my favourite but it was still worth a try! I’d come back here again.

I brought my wife here for her birthday dinner and I must say that this was one of the most amazing culinary experiences I have ever had. The fish is mostly imported directly from Japan and the freshness of the fish is amazing. We chose to go with the Omakase and it was well worth the price! The staff is well trained and go out of their way to inform you of the fish and bites you are taking as well as pairings of sake and drinks to go with your food. 10/10 will recommend to anyone looking for a meal prepared by highly trained chefs who definitely put the love of their craft into every bite you take! We will be coming back without a doubt!
