Sonny Bryan, whose original vision for top-tier Texas barbecue is still alive and well, used to keep the restaurant open until the 800 pounds of meat ran out (usually around 1 pm). He’d spend the rest of the day riding his bicycle around town.
A lot has changed since the days of Sonny and his bicycle but we’re proud of the blend of old and new you’ll encounter while visiting our flagship store.
It’s easy to spot imposters in the barbecue industry. Looking for authentic barbecue that stands out among all the other briskets? We’ve got the roots and the history to prove you’re in the right place.

This is the only place my husband and myself love to come to for BBQ. You can’t beat the prices for the quality food and service you get when you walk in. The kids dinner plate is more than enough for my 11 year old boy. The meat is never dry and the sides are always fresh.

Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse happened to be on the way to someplace at mealtime, so my family decided to stop there. We knew it’s a small business, so we figured it’ll be good to support a local business.

Went during mid-afternoon slow period. The food was really good. The atmosphere was quiet at that time. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional.

Great host, food was delish, price was right. Meat was falling off the bones. Will definitely return. My only complaint is that the peach cobbler did not taste homemade. Tasted store brought.

This rustic bbq place is famous for its brisket sandwich. If you are craving for a good brisket sandwich you can try this store. The staff are friendly and helpful.

This place looks like you could miss it from the outside but once inside the food is fantastic! The prime rib juicy and smoky; the ribs meaty and huge. The macaroni and cheese is melt in your mouth creamy. I absolutely can’t wait to eat here again! Just order the big plate; you won’t be sorry in the slightest!

I’d probably give this a 3.5. It’s been on my list of BBQ places to try in te DFW. The food was good, but nothing special. Service was good, dinning room could use an update, a little on the crusty side. I’d give it another shot, maybe try the downtown location, solid bbq, but there are a fee places around town that definitely beat this one out.

This place was on point! Delicious and large loaded baked potato and the brisket was excellent. On top of that, the restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

This homestyle restaurant was pretty good. The ribs were really good. The cashier gave us some attitude upfront but loosened up as we were ordering. The food wasn’t good enough to make the drive again.

This was my first time eating here at the recommendation of family living in Frisco. Our party of 5 enjoyed all the food. Their “famous” onion rings were top notch to the whole table. Staff was service oriented and the place was very clean including the bathrooms. Oh and make sure you don’t pass up the fresh rolls!
