I’m gone say this good soul food comes with a humble soul a compassionate soul and leaves me to ask where is Sonja haven’t seen her since the move and the fact is the food is good but the service is whack. Sir your customer service has me away but the food calls and the prices are for food and service the easy part is getting there but when you shut down without a notice online not pinned up at your business is poor, “business with your attitude”is what I hear ..Needed post your prices Everyone is a new customer..address your employees in a meeting not on front row…when you get another group of customers waiting at least see what’s available make an announcement away from prepared food .Appreciation should be addressed before paying ;entrance then exit.

First time visit at this restaurant. Looked at sign posted inside the restaurant that provided daily meal choices and prices. Placed my order for what was posted as $18.50. I did not order anything extra. The serving line was very slow. If you’re in a hurry this may not be the best option. When it was my turn to check-out the gentleman politely said $25.00. What??? I paid it and said nothing but I was truly disgusted. Who does that? The restaurant should post their CORRECT prices at all times. If I had initially seen $25.00 for ONE dinner I would have immediately turned around, got in my car and left! Son Ja’s also charges an additional 4% if you use your debit/credit card. I sat down to eat, the food was hot and ok. The restaurant was clean. A worker walked over to my table and asked if “I needed anything”. I responded, “I would like some water”. The worker responded, “Uh, they charge for water”. Really? I just spent $25 and I can’t get a cup of water? All I can say about my first and LAST visit to Son Ja’s Soul Food is that “They got me once but they won’t EVER get me again.” I WON’T BE BACK, I am good!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. After 2 days I’m still pondering on if I will return or not. My experience is 50/50 so I think I MAY give a second chance to waver me either way. Anyway, the food was OK. I ordered the smothered fried chicken, mac and cheese, and dressing. I actually asked the woman to add green beans but she didn’t. Which is half of the reason why I’m giving a so so review. The woman that was serving the food did not look happy at all to be there. She did not even attempt to try to fake a smile. I felt kind of rushed to order and then like I said she did not even put everything on the plate she asked me what I wanted but was moving ahead of me. Customer service is really big I will not go somewhere because of their customer service even if the food is good. The guy there working named Ryan was nice. He had his name on his shirt. The chicken was dark meat but it was kind of dry. The dressing did not have much flavor but it was edible. The mac and cheese was good but it did not taste homemade it tasted like Velveeta Shells and cheese with a whole lot of extra Velveeta. The food was good but nothing to write home about. The wait time was a little lengthy. When I first got there they said it was 20 minutes on mac and cheese I left for about 30 minutes and came back and was in line for probably 15 minutes but that wasn’t too bad not really complaining about that. Like I said I may try it one more time a different entree different sides and see how that goes.

This was my first visit but definitely not my last. They have a great menu of items to choose from. A must visit for anyone who enjoys home cooked soul food!

First time being there and it was great. I got a side of camdied yams and mac and cheese. They were both delicious. My other half got roast beef with turkey greens and cabbage. It came with cornbread and cranberry sauce

The food is good but they need to work on their service. There is no way you should be running out of food on a Sunday. That is the busiest day of the week. And after you stand in line for an hour to get up there, you find out they are out of Mac and cheese and won’t be ready for another hour. They were out of 2 of the 3 things I came for. I just left..wasted my time.

I went to the restaurant around 2:30pm. I waited because long conversations were being held in the line. I ordered a couple of the menu items. I was told we only have what you see. I ordered my food and I felt pressured to get two sides for each meal even if I didn’t want it. I ordered three meals, my bill was $52.00. Which to me was high because as a three person house hold I could feed us with $35. The food was good, I just over priced.

The food takes so long. It’s very expensive. They will forget your order if you don’t stand right there in front of them. The ladies are very polite.
