It’s cute in here. I like what they’ve done with the place. The food didn’t take too long to come out.

10/10. This place is a GEM. The spicy tuna roll, the best I’ve had. Simple but fresh and so flavorful! I sat outdoors on their cute patio facing the street, so you can still people watch. My server Jesse was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was prompt. The manager Nino greeted all his tables. It was really an all-over nice experience. I will most certainly be a regular at this spot.

First time at Somo Kitchen and the food was delicious. We had the seaweed salad and three rolls. The Richmond St, Somo Samurai and Eastern Tiger rolls are favorites and unique to Somo. They are also three of the most popular. The Richmond St roll was my favorite but the Somo Samurai (pictured) was intriguing and the slower I at it the more flavors I tasted. Great atmosphere and service from all. Will be back.

Something is fishy about these google reviews… Not good at all. The sushi is equal or less than supermarket sushi. Rice was sweet as anything, they used way too much of it. They put sesame seeds on the rolls, if you know sushi you already know. Not anything nice to say about the quality of fish. We left about $100 worth of sushi on the table for two people. The Edamame is in a sweet sauce that is absolutely horrible and it’s not even in the pod? That’s the first time I’ve seen that except for a poke/Hawaiian restaurant. When you get edamame to eat with sake you expect it to be salty, not sweet. They don’t have anything on the menu but brought me something else for $15 for a nasty little can about half the size of a coke can that tasted like rubbing alcohol. They didn’t tell me that the sake was something I didn’t even order. I didn’t complain about anything, but I told the server Jamie that I didn’t like the drink and he didn’t care at all, didn’t even offer to get me something else. Check my pictures if you think anything is unfair about my review. I get disappointed by 5/10 sushi restaurants I go to in Providence, but this was a joke. From the service to the sushi to the appetizers to the false advertising about the sake. Just go some there else if you desire sushi, or even a grocery store.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place last summer. Since then, we’ve been back at least 6 times. The food is AMAZING! Last time I was there, I ordered the Jumbo shrimp udon noodle and it was so good and filling. I loved the Chicken Karaage, it was very juicy and crispy. Big portion too! The Green geisha is my go to drink. Everyone who works there is really nice, and Nino (the owner/chef) is so kind. He is literally cooking with LOVE ❤️ He treats my friend and I like queens when we come in! I could rave on and on about this place! I wish I had more pictures! Nice interior, lowlit and good background music. Not too loud. I really enjoy the ambience. Best sushi is Providence hands down!!!

I hosted a bachelorette dinner at Somo and it was great! First of all the food was as good excellent. Further the staff was flexible and very friendly and the interior was instagram friendly! I went through quite a few changes planning an event here and they were easy to deal with all the way through. I highly recommend the dinner service.

Some of the best sushi we’ve had in Providence. I have been struggling for over 2 years since moving here to find really great sushi – and Somo seriously BLEW our minds!

I truly wanted to give Somo the chance to redeem themselves. But after the third time, I can say definitively that I will never return. To start off, service is terrible. Our server came to our table twice in the span of an hour. I can understand if the place was busy but I wasn’t at all. I ordered chicken teriyaki and the chicken was way over cooked. To top it off, EVERYTHING was dirty. I had to ask for another glass because there was something in my first one. The bottom of my plate was dirty. And the cups that hold your soy sauce had stuff on it so we didn’t end up using them. The food is way overpriced for the quality. I’m sure they won’t care about this review but hopefully this will help others. Spend your money elsewhere.

Great lunch. The owner/ chef came over and greeted us to check on our meal.. we had Korean dumpling and they were delicious and we ordered a variety of 3 rolls which were presented beautifully and were very good. We got the Eastern tiger, Firecracker and somo samurai rolls. Our last favorite was the Eastern tiger only because it was more sweet than savory. The other 2 we could not decide which we liked better.
