The very generous portions were well worth the price. Free chips and perfect salsa at the table were much appreciated. I recommend the pastor and asada meats, but I’m sure any choice won’t disappoint you. I love the feel of the place, the artwork on the walls is welcoming. We will definitely revisit next time in town.

I would describe So Cal Tacos & Beer as an upscale taco shop. The food is delicious! They have a cute patio for outdoor dining and the indoor dining area is very comfortable. Service is great.

Staff were so awesome and friendly. The food was great. I like how we got chips and salsa. Oh, I like spicy salsa and they have delicious salsa. For me, it wasn’t too spicy but it had great flavor. I’ll totally go back.

The first time I went to So Cal Tacos and Beer, the service was great. The food was tasty, and overall, we had a nice time. Went back yesterday, and it was the very opposite. Ordered our food. Took a minute to find a clean table. Sat there for more than 40 minutes and no food. Finally went back to the counter, the cashier and other server didn’t even look at us. The bartender was nice enough to re print our order and give it to the cook. Apparently, he had made it, and it was given to someone else by mistake. When the order was done again, the server just threw the plate on our table in the most rude and dismissive way. No apologizes, nothing. Won’t be going back there anymore. Also, the food was almost burned and tasted horrible. Nothing like the first time. I’m not sure what happened.

we were in the area and had a craving for some al pastor tacos and found this location after a quick search online. i actually ended up going with the breakfast burrito instead and it was a great decision because it was huge and fresh tasting. we will be back in the near future for their taco tuesday special or the happy hour that we saw

I visited the new location by Aldi’s yesterday and I LOVE it. I’ve always found the food to be amazing so this review is long overdue. I’m from Chula Vista where I grew up with so many amazing taco shops. I moved to the area about 3 and a half years ago and have found too many taco shops disappointing. Carne with no flavor, beans bland, salsa not tasting like anything, etc. A friend recommended SoCal Tacos & Beer to me so my boyfriend and I checked it out. Holy cow it was amazing. The tacos, the surf and turf burrito, the carne everything I’ve tried has been incredible. I’ve been obsessed with birria for years and was so happy the one they have here is delicious. Every single employee that has helped us has had incredible customer service.
