Tonight’s dinner was recommended by a local couple we met at the boat beach – food from Smoking D’s BBQ – the Picnic for 2. And it was worth every penny! 3 meats + 3 sides. We wound up getting chopped pork, ribs, and brisket + 2x baked beans and Cole slaw. Everything was delicious! The brisket was our favorite. Beans were very good. Cole slaw was very good. I highly recommend coming here.

This place was really good. Nothing fancy, just good eats. We were staying in the hotel across the street and got there just before dinner time. So we braved the traffic and went there. Outside seating but there was a nice breeze blowing off the little bay area behind the building. You walk in, place your order, and then walk out with your food. Sorry I didn’t get any pictures but we were hungry and too busy eating. Wish this was closer to my house cause I would eat here at least once a week if not more. LOVED IT!

The ribs were a disappointment. I’m used to fall off the bone ribs, even when I cook them myself. The sauces were ok but the ribs were chewy and dry. There is no dine in. There is a picnic area outside, which is fine. The lemonade was meh. Not cold. Cole slaw wasn’t that good either. I would never go back.

So, we were visiting from Fort Lauderdale and the hotel staff pointed us toward this cool BBQ place. The food was seriously delicious and genuinely authentic. It was a fantastic experience that really set the tone for our stay in St. Augustine.

I visited from Minnesota, and the ribs were really good. The rice was good, but the beans were not really baked beans or sweet beans like I thought. I will definitely recommend and try other sides.
