The jalapeño gravy was awesome!! So was the fried catfish. Service was great! We drove in from Lubbock to see family and would definitely eat here again when in town. Such a cute area, good music, good food. Brooke was our waitress and she was very kind and attentive!! Loved her and the place itself!

We like eating at local joints as much as we can, we searched out reviews and found this place where the menu looked promising with a variety to choose from. Food and drinks were great service is where this place sadly lacks and it appears to be from new staff with lack of experience and customer service skills. When we arrived we did a walk through of the place and went to sit outside as the weather was great and we sat around the corner from the band as there were no other tables and this way we got to hear the tunes but not be super loud. After sitting for a few min hubby walked inside to the bar and ordered our drinks and told the bartender we were sitting outside and were wanting menus; he brought drinks back to the table and we continued to wait…….bartender happened to come through probably 10-15 min later and asked us if we had ordered yet (checking in on us obviously) that’s when we told her we still hadn’t gotten menus. She looked over her shoulder to see where the waitress was and told us she would get them for us ASAP and apologized for the delay. She came back and took our order and checked in on us as she could, but it was obvious to us that she was THE bartender for the whole place and she wasn’t able to attend to us as we expected but after figuring out what was happening, we understood and that’s the reason for the 4 star as the food, drinks and atmosphere were great!

Some of the BEST places you’ll ever find aren’t “downtown”! Smoky Joe’s is one of Amarillo’s gems. It’s located on Historic Route 66 west of downtown. As soon as we drove past it the first time…I knew I would have to see the place. With indoor and outdoor seating available, the smoking crowd can feel welcome. I had the Smoky Joe’s Famous Chicken Fried Steak w/Jalapeño Gravy. You can get it without…but don’t! It’s fantastic! My wife got the Apache Chicken Wrap. Honestly, once I got started on mine…I never looked at hers. Until I ran out of green beans, that is. Quite possibly the BEST Green Beans I’ve ever had! Ordered an extra bowl. Whether you’re driving a rental Prius, or ridin’ a ’48 Harley…you’re welcome here. BOTH times we went there, i was surprised at how affordable they were. Great music, great service, great food, and great atmosphere await you at Smoky Joe’s!

Brisket sandwich was acceptable if pricey, wait was terrible but it was a busy Sunday afternoon. To go children’s chicken tenders consisted of stringy barely cooked chicken and soggy undercooked fries. $6 Hard pass.

Cool stop! Staff are pretty incredible. Moved fast to help people out. Definitely a small town feel. A good place to stop for lunch or dinner if in the area. Really liked their burgers and fries. They have good cheese curds and wings.

We needed to eat on the way out of town and we had our dog. Dogs are allowed on the patio and it worked out great! They also had live music, it was a fun atmosphere. We tried the Texas Taters, Smokey Joes Burger, and Chicken Penne Pasta. All were very good—especially the Texas Taters! Our waitress did an excellent job. We will be back, hopefully with our dog because he loved it!

I love the the ambiance and the music. I would come here to hang only and grab a drink. The food could be better the wings were dry and bland plus the fries were soggy. Would still come but not for the food.

This was a great place for us to stop to eat on our road trip. It is located on the route 66 antique shops area which makes it cool already. It is pet friendly and we opted to eat here because we brought Fido with us. We started out on one of the patio tables. It looked like it was going to rain and we requested a table that wouldn’t get wet. We got served our food and in my third bite, the sweet waitress came out to tell us to come inside WITH THE DOG. Luckily it wasn’t too packed or bothersome to other eaters. She told us to grab our plates and she took Fido inside. She set us up, yet again for the third time. Food was pretty good. My son got a plate of ribs and devoured them. Super tender. Hubby got fried catfish and he liked it. I loved the chicken tender plate. Well served and super crispy. But the most special treatment was for Fido. He got a piece of bacon for behaving excellent inside.
