We were sent here by some locals when we ask about good food and let me tell you, it was some of the best Ive ever had! The Shrimp Po’ Boy was so good . The shrimp, which are locally sourced, were HUGE. And the banana pudding? Somebody put their whole foot in it & it might have been better than my mamaws!! And the staff were the friendliest people! If youre looking for smiling faces and a full tummy, go see these folks!!

A true hidden JEM!!! Meats so good they don’t need sauce!!! Ribs were EXCELLENT, meaty, juicy and tender!! Perfect subtle rub that ENHANCED the flavor!!! Not over done or distracting!!! Brisket was done to PERFECTION!!!! Very moist and tender!!! Perfect rub and not overdone to distract from the true meaty flavor!!!! Melts in your mouth goodness….and no sauce required!!!! Mac & Cheese was to die for!!!! Cole Slaw was my favorite as I loved the prep on its fineness…. Not over sweet nor to tart a very fine balance to complement any main dish!!! Baked Beans we’re good…and a good add to main dish!! I’d like to see more variety of added brisket and peppers… but that’s me… still very good!!! Avocado Shrimp Salad is an excellent balanced meal!!! Flavorful and Fresh!!!! If your hungry the Fully loaded Pulled Pork Nachos are a Feist in itself!!! Packed Full of lots of Pulled Pork, cheese, salsa/tomato’s and jalapeño’s drizzled with sauce…. A Pure Delight to one’s tastebuds!!!!

Don’t judge the food by the appearance of this cute little old building. Don’t walk out when you see the mix and match seating (folks, that’s a sign that the food speaks for itself and they don’t need fancy seats!) Grab some smoked meat and just be happy!!! The Texas toast sandwiches are so crazy good on that buttery grilled bread….yes, shut up and take my money every time I’m in Port Royal!!!

Overall disappointed with our experience at Smokehouse BBQ. We had read great reviews and were excited to grab some South Carolina BBQ for takeout on our way into town. We ordered the sampler platter and lots of sides. I have had a lot of bbq and the meat was not prepared well (ribs very tough, brisket overcooked). We had got the macaroni, baked beans, corn on the cob, coleslaw and potato salad for sides. The macaroni was pretty good, was disappointed with the half of the corn on the cob with no seasoning than ran us $4.50, potato salad was very eggy and runny, baked beans tasted exactly like bush baked beans and the cole slaw was actually pretty good but as you can see in the picture was only filled half way which was frustrating. I am hoping based on the reviews that they may just be having an off couple of months but overall unfortunate experience for us and we will not be returning.

We’re new here and came to Smokehouse by recommendation. It was GREAT. Ribs were tender, flavourful, well seasoned and generous. Husband had pulled pork platter and said it was perfect. The sides are all made on site and were all delicious. I could live on their steamed cabbage with sausage. This will be a regular stop for us. And the people that work there are awesome.

Amazing!! I’m originally from NYC, so “hole in the wall” type spots are always gonna be my go-to when out of town. And this place was chefs kiss! All of the food was 10/10. No complaints! Will definitely come back whenever we visit.

Smokehouse was a pleasant surprise at Hilton Head. Smoky sweet meat that barely even needs sauce, southern bbq without the unnecessary grease. Smoked chicken chowder was my favorite and the choice of sides were plentifully appetizing. Great prices and excellent service. Excited to come again!
