The food is fresh, creative, high end, yet also still comfort food! We enjoyed Arancini de Riso, Polynesian pizza, mamascotti flatbread, Cesar salad, Jambalaya risotto, chicken slfredo, bacon and corn carbonara, along with decently priced (for modern times) beer and sparkling wine. Service was top notch (thnx Shelby!). We also enjoyed being greated by Mateo, the restaurant doggy. Finally, the basement atmosphere is cool (both temp and design). The only thing I’d recommend is to eat inside versus outside, which may mean calling ahead of time depending on season. We ate there once outside and weren’t as impressed with the vibe, though it’s not bad. All in all, this is our current favorite spot in Placerville.

It was comedy night, and the featured comics were great. The food made it out very late, as there was a mix-up, I’m told. Drinks were supposed to make up for it, but those too were forgotten, and we had to remind them. When the food did make it out, it was delicious. I suspect it was just one of those days, so we will try again another day.

For private events, the Smith Flat House does an amazing job! We had 80 folks outside and the tables, place settings, buffet and service was great. The bar staff was most helpful and personable. Can’t be beat! Highly recommend!

Tucked away on Missouri Flat Road, the outdoor seating was pleasantly spacious, except for the extremely hard wooden, fold up chairs, had to adjust sitting positions to keep comfortable several times. Maybe a small, thin, coushined seat topper would be appropriate for outdoor dining.

Ordered mid rare steak got well done overpriced garbage. All outdoor seating so if the wind blows the dirt on the ground contaminates the food. Great idea owners I’m sure someone who pays 40-60$ a plate appreciates that. They try to mask it with young women servers all dolled up but I’m not buying it. Not worth the price 90$ for 2 people with no alcohol
