Had the concierge offer to take our photo for us every time we attempted to do it ourselves. The oysters are sucked to perfection ana fresh. The fish and chips are melt in your mouth yummy with a crispy batter! After the visits we finally got to meet the owner!

It’s the best atmosphere with great service in a prime location. Prices are ok for the tradeoffs. The batters have very little if any taste. Although, the sauces make up the difference.

I’ve been here in Summer and Winter and the photos are from the Winter. One of the few places in Reno you can dine with a view of the river and also has outdoor dining option. Outside is the place to sit, even in the Winter on a sunny day. Place during the week in the Winter was deserted as Reno really isn’t a Winter destination as most visitors will be staying in Tahoe. Excellent Fish & Chips although pricey (around $22-$27). Lots of other things on the menu. You’re paying a premium for the location. You may have to exercise some patience with service if you are there when it’s busy as like many cities, staffing now can be challenging.

Sitting with our backs to the sun on the outdoor patio and the river flowing 50 feet from our table was peaceful unto itself. Opting for the beer upgrade from 16 to 23 oz is only $2 and worth it! We picked up both the halibut and cod fish and chips to compare and we think we preferred the spicy cod! My sister got the mahi mahi and shrimp tacos and preferred the shrimp tacos with the sweet salsa. I love that the owner catches much of the fresh fish in Alaskan waters to share with his patrons. We’ll be back!

There appears to be a staffing/management issue at this restaurant.

Reliably delicious wild-caught fish prepared well. Today is the first day in months it was nice to dine outside!

Came on a Monday night and it wasn’t very busy. Service was very attentive and friendly. Got a few cocktails that were very tasty. Clam chowder was good. Also got fish and shrimp tacos. Both were good, the shrimp tacos were incredible. Also got the shrimp skewer over a salad and that was wonderful also. Fish and chips were tasty too. Very pricey but for the scale of restaurant it was worth it. There are a few things that are pretty affordable too. Overall made for a very nice evening with tasty food and a good atmosphere. Definitely would go again.

First time visit to Smee’s Alaskan Fish. The restaurant was not extremely busy and there was a laid back vibe going. We got a table inside right away. Not bad for 6:30 pm on a Saturday night.

I was there a couple of weeks ago with my neighbors. It was a cold night, not very crowded unfortunately. We had a great server and got to meet the owner as well. The food is fantastic, clearly the best fish&chips I’ve had, including many times in the UK. Try the spicy fish, yummy. I deduct a star because of the high prices, but you will really love the food and service.

Great atmosphere, right next to the river. Wish it was a another restaurant. Along with the high and mighty host, out waitress was loaded, drunk or enjoying one too many pharmaceuticals.
