The food and customer service was excellent. My mom and I were visiting from out of town and had finished shopping. We went to another restaurant and received horrible customer and did not feel welcomed. So glad for that because we found this little gem!! We were immediately greeted, given menus and as well as told what the specials of the day were. My mom ordered the lemon chicken, cabbage, yams and cornbread fritters. I ordered the fried pork chop, Mac and cheese, rice and gravy and roll. We both enjoyed our meals. My mom tried my Mac and cheese and ordered herself some to go. We also ordered the 12 layer chocolate cake and banana pudding. Oh man, that banana pudding was so delicious! If you like whipped cream and instant pudding, you will love this. My mom like banana pudding the ole school way but not me. We will definitely come back and support this establishment that provides good souther hospitality unlike the first diner we visited. Thank you Sly’s for a wonderful lunch with my mom!

Did not know a lot about Rockingham before now, however , because of Sly’s Restaurant I will make a point to come this way again. The food is excellent, the owner and his sweet family are adorable! I had fried chicken, steamed cabbage, rice and gravy, corn bread, sweet corn, with a side of spaghetti…oh my! God sent us here for a reason….to have a great comfort meal and to meet wonderful people. I wish you insurmountable success and good fortune. We will be back!

I have only eaten here once. But it was dine-in and the service was good. Clean , neat dining area. It is a small diner with very limited seating. I believe much of their business is take out. But the staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. They seem to be conscious of their take out orders, getting them ready in a timely manner. Our food came out quickly as well. The food was good and plenty. Again, it was a very clean restaurant. That says a lot about the proprietor. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

I have a long time friend that lives in Rockingham. I came to visit Mother’s Day Weekend. She had googled different places to eat instead of fast food and came across this place. We went and it was delicious!! We had different things but it was all so good. The restaurant was clean. The staff was very friendly and treated so well!!

I ordered two plates, which were both supposed to come with 3 sides. I only received two for each plate. The collards taste like they come from a can. Squash had wayy to much pepper. Rice and gravy wasn’t seasoned at all. “Cubed steak” was actually a hamburger patty, which is cool but why advertise it as cubed steak?! Mac and cheese was dry and only cheesy on top. This isn’t “soul food” or southern cooking. Definitely not impressed with this place, especially for the price.
