We had a really lovely time at Slater’s. We had originally tried to get a table at the Expat – they were full but the host called Slater’s (their sister restaurant) and told us they had two bar seats open. Right away we loved the air of simple sophistication and straightforward good taste. Every staff member we spoke with was extremely gracious and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a nice time. The two bartenders were very welcoming and gave us great recommendations on both drinks and food. We were very impressed by the martini selection especially. We will definitely be back to try more of the sides and entrees!

Got into town for the UGA national title celebration, Go Dawgs. Looked up and found this gem. Friday night didn’t even think about needing a reservation. Walked in the manager greets us and I requested a table for 2. I was asked about a reservation and I said “I don’t have one”. Side note, the owner was also with the hosting stand. They talk for a second about availability. They really did have anything available (if not I definitely wouldn’t have been upset), but made room anyways. Thank ya’ll so much not only was the food amazing but the fact they did this for us was remarkable for this day and time. I will say that speaks volumes just about the care for the customer. Our next trip to Athens will definitely include dinner here, but with a reservation. This is a must place to enjoy a perfect cut of steak. The waitress was perfect, the food was perfect and the manager and owner was the most genuine you will meet. Again I can’t thank ya’ll enough for making room for just the 2 of us. 10 stars in my book.

Service was good. Manager was not able to tell us if the beef was USDA prime. Filet was average and ribeye was very fatty and did not melt in your mouth. Very expensive for the quality. Mushrooms were terrible. Asparagus and bread were delicious. Overall, not worth it. There are better steakhouses in Athens with similar prices. Very difficult to find parking even though it was not very busy.

Ended up at Slaters on a bit of a whim, and what an absolute delightful find. Staff was fantastic, knowledgable and fun to chat with, and the food was divine. Special shout out to the crab cakes, the trout, and the creamed spinach, but tasted several other items and all were delicious! While pricy, portion sizes were great, and the quality and innovative adjustments on old standard dishes really elevated Slaters to a personal favorite here in Athens. Can’t wait to go back!

Why for a couple dinner. We were not impressed at all with the taste or quality of the food. The service was slow but everywhere is slow these days. Everyone at our table got steak and no one’s was cooked well. I had the ribeye and for the quality of meat it was over priced. I have no objections to paying top dollar for a good tasting, quality steak but this one was neither of those. The atmosphere was ok.

Little disappointed. This is a very top end restaurant therefore really expensive. $60 for an 8ounce steak – $80 if you add a topping. That’s okay – we expected it and wanted a top of the line steak. Unfortunately we thought the food was marginal and not the quality of other steakhouses in this price range. I think we need this restaurant in Athens – a good steakhouse – so I hope it can improve. But I don’t think we would go again based on our experience And the price.

Great fine-dining addition to the Athens scene, even for those who do not want to eat steak. Definitely top-3 in Athens. The ambience is classy and the servers are elegant, polite, and knowledgeable. Our sever (Taylor) made excellent suggestions — we loved all her suggestions more so than the menu items we had picked ourselves. Although, there was nothing we ordered that we would rather not have.

Took my 12 year old daughter here for her birthday!! We had a great time!! All the steaks were proper. The drinks were smooth and our server Lucas was amazing. We will return!!

Great reinvention of a food destination in Five Points. Very classy decor with magnificent noise reduction innovations. NY strip well prepared. The “sides” were really good with quantity for sharing. Many wonderful wine options. A little pricey but a high quality experience.
