The staff were helpful and outgoing. The food was ok, but nothing that would make me rush back for more. The wooden bar on top of my booth bench felt as though it had countless layers of grease on it. The bathroom was run down and the floors an unsightly mess.

When you walk in there’s a weird smell, like it’s stale and greasy. The place is pretty until you sit down and notice how rundown it is – instead of buying a new floor mat, so people don’t trip, they used duct tape to keep it to the floor.

Terrible fish. Undercooked on the inside, very mushy. Small pieces. When we brought up our concerns, the cashier immediately got defensive, refused a refund (we did not ask for one) and then examined and brought back our fish. Only recooked a portion of our fish after I insisted. Insanely poor service.

Food was delicious. I ordered to go. I was just a bit disappointed with the amount I got for the money. It’s hard to find decent seafood this far from the coast though. I will return.

I have been looking all over the valley for a great Fish and Chips Restaurant. Skippers on Fairview really hit the spot! Extremely fresh, hot and crispy, savory and juicy. The wife and I will definitely be back!

Skipper’s used to be one of my favorite places to eat. After my experience today, I may never go back. The prices have about doubled what they were just a couple years ago, and are way out of line for a “fast food” restaurant and more like “fine dining”, which it was NOT! The french fries were overcooked, the coleslaw recipe had been changed from what was quite good to something that is far less than that. The fish was served so hot and greasy (and tasteless) it was hardly edible. The best thing in the meal was the medium size drink ( which was $2.75). There were free refills, which almost brought the price within reason, but is still way higher than I’m used to paying for the same thing almost anywhere else. The service was “fair” at best. Overall, 2-stars was being generous.

I love skippers! Guy working was awesome and food was excellent. Chowder was delicious, soup could have been warmer. I think soup should be piping hot…Word of advise, don’t come here dreaming about the “all you can eat fish/shrimp”.

Horrible experience. The people were nice but the price you pay for a small serving is ridiculous. There was fat on the chicken to where we couldn’t eat it. Too much breading on the fish. The employee came over to clear it and dropped food and silverware on us. Absolutely won’t be going back.

The service was good and quick. We ordered the fried cod fish with French fries. Commonly known as Fish & Chips. It was good. What stands out most to me is the big white columns at each end of rows of white bench booths. Blue floors, & decorated like it was on docks by the bay. Nice feel. Friendly service.

I wish I could rate this higher but I wasn’t really impressed. The beer battered fish was good, and the fries weren’t bad, but the tartar sauce was gross. It was super-sweet and tasted nothing like tartar sauce. In fact, it just had a sweet, carroty-like flavor. It was very disappointing. Tartar sauce is massively important in a fish place. The clam chowder wasn’t the best. In fact, Red Robin has this beat hands-down. Way too much potato and not enough clams. Even though the dining room is clean and the people are super-nice, the price of the meal was so cost-prohibitive, I won’t go back. I paid $16.48 for a kid’s meal, clam chowder and coke! That is remarkably high. If they cut the prices by 25% I would feel that the value was there. But they would need decent tartar sauce to get me back. It’s a real shame because the niceness of the staff, the cleanliness, the classical music, and the decent fish would have given this a 5-star rating if it didn’t cost as much as a steak dinner for one piece of fish and some soup!
