We stopped here on our way to Virginia. It was a great find. They served the table an order of tasty hush puppies before the food. The pork chops were super tender and the corn pudding and Mac and cheese were awesome. Everything came out super quick and the staff were great.

Please don’t sit in my seat! There is nothing they serve that isn’t perfect. Great family and a great staff. And take advice from an old country boy…. These types of family restaurants are being squeezed little by little by many corporate America…I chose to support small family run businesses of all types…. But that’s just me…I love walking in and they speak and know who you are.

This is a country cooking restaurant no frills kind of place. Sweet tea, hushpuppies and baked beans are great! Bbq pork not so much. To much sauce and lack luster. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would eat here again and try something else.

Place has been in business for a long time and it shows although it has been maintained, it’s age shows. Nevertheless, the food is great and plentiful. We had chopped pork and Brunswick stew plates. Both were excellent with the barbeque being well smoked and tender. Their menu consists of other choices if you’re not a BBQ fan. Fridays special was meatloaf and 2 sides. Prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I had lunch here on 1/27/23. The BBQ and chicken plate were great! While I was there I had a medical emergency that almost required an ambulance. The girls working in the dining room were very attentive and made me feel that they were genuinely concerned for my health and welfare. I only get to Skipper’s once or twice a year because I live in Virgina. I just wanted to publicly thank your staff. You should be proud of them. I have been a life long customer and try to go there when I can, but have lived out of town since 1993. Please thank the girls for me.
