The waitress was absolutely horrible! I asked her for a big box to put my leftover food in, she literally looked over my plate for like a full minute to decide whether or not I needed a bigger box. Also she never cane to the table to ask if we needed refills or anything else! Only reason she came to the table was to take our order and pick up the check. Horrible service!

Best BBQ we ever had! Hands down! Ribs melt right off the bone. Soooo tender! Chicken & brisket was amazing!! Fried okra was the absolute freshest okra I have ever tasted. Coleslaw was perfection! The gravy on the mashed potatoes was mouth watering savory! Absolutely nothing like it! Chicken wings…crispy, spicy, perfect! The fried pickles were so tangy and tasty. I could eat those everyday! I cannot say enough about the bread pudding! It is homemade and traditional, just how I like it. Had a twist that was a surprise. Such a delightful surprise. Made the already perfect taste even better! Over the top! I won’t spoil the surprise of it though. You’ll have to see for yourself. You’ll never want to eat any other bread pudding ever again. You’re going to go to Skinney’s every time you want bread pudding. Good portions for the price. Not expensive. Staff was very friendly and nice about everything. They treated us like friends or family. Very attentive. The restaurant is very well kept and clean! Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Met the owner. Former Marine. So is my husband. Owner was very friendly and kind to us and my 2 yr. old baby too. Shared a story of the history of the restaurant. Definetly going back. Definetly going to be frequently flyers! Can’t wait to go on a Friday night when they have live music and dancing!

Salad was 9.50 plus a 2.00 charge for it been fried salad instead of grilled where’s the extra meat that’s processed out the bag that cost about 9.50 or less in grocery store but when you don’t have the time to cook this is what you get.

Can’t say enough about Skinney’s. Been dining there for generations. Classic neighborhood restaurant.

When placing our order the cashier was real rude don’t no why….. the food was spoiled the ribs and chicken we took the order back the Manger on duty told us that they prepared the ribs the night before and that she was sorry and gave our money back. The young lady at the entrance who seats you was so friendly she played with my niece made her smile took pics with her she was great. We thanked her and wish her a blessed day because the same person who took our order was also rude to her calling out her name after she told her my name is …….. visiting here again we would be a negative no for me.

The mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious. The chicken fried steak wasn’t what I expected. It was a pattie with breading. It was our 1st time eating here and I will try it again with something else and update after next visit and menu choices. The service was really good and nice.

It has been awhile since our visit but a nice and friendly place to stop for lunch when traveling down Hwy. 51. Full menu with a nice variety of selections from home cooking to burgers to steaks and seafood. Enjoyed our lunch. Food cooked well and tasted good. I ordered a seafood pasta dish and was pleased. Skinny’s is a very casual place with casual decor and atmosphere. You will feel right at home. Staff was nice, friendly and attentive on our visit. The prices are a little on the high side but I suppose warranted for being located in a less populated area.

I hate to write this review as I normally don’t ever do so. However, my family tried this place tonight after hearing about it from so many. We waited over 1 hour to get food after ordering when only one other table was in the restaurant. We didn’t order anything special and had small children. When we asked the server about the child’s food being ready the only reply was I don’t know and walked away from the kitchen. We nearly missed another event we had to be at due to the time of getting the food. We told a staff member about it before seeing our waitress and then our waitress was notified when we did see her and her reply was “I know they already told me”. Apparently we bothered her. Once we finally got the food, it was OK, but many of the dishes were only about lukewarm. The entire time there wasn’t more than three tables of families in the restaurant and when we questioned the long time we were even told they had a lot of to go orders. So, to go orders gets put in front of dine in?

Wonderful experience tonight. My waitress was very attentive and polite and the steak I had was just the way I wanted it. Not only do I recommend the steak but I also recommend the firecracker shrimp appetizer which came with fries and toast topped with a tasty sauce which is different from other places with the same name.
