It is a little quaint place with delicious food. We had the fried catfish, rice w/ gravy and fried cabbage. The fish was made to order, so it came out perfect. The meal was so good we had to try the dessert…. to be continued!!!

It was my birthday, and I wanted some good, down home soul food. Gave these wonderful people a shot, and I’m so glad I did! First of all, it’s a little hole-in-the-wall place adjacent to the Safeway parking lot, which is THE BEST type of restaurant in my opinion. You walk in the door, and it smells like real, down home soul food. For a second, I thought my mother was still alive! The food? Oh my, let me tell you about the food. I ordered the chicken strips with collards, and fries. THE COLLARDS!! It is worth going there for the collards, alone!! Everything else was equally fabulous. The chicken was authentically “soul food”. Season perfectly, as opposed to the overseasoning many chicken places employ. My partner got the chicken as well and also loved it! However, my partner got the jalapeno Mac and cheese and the garlic mashed potatoes as sides. Let me tell you: I HATE Mac and Cheese!! However, THIS Mac and Cheese was insanely good, and I’ll order it for myself next time. The garlic mashed potatoes? Just stop. There was so much flavor, between those two sides, that I ended up eating some of my partner’s sides, as well! But wait!! I forgot about the cornbread!! It was moist yet flakey, and simply delicious. (my only gripe, here, is that the portion is a little small. Or, maybe that’s just a “me” thing.) Knowing it was my birthday, these lovely ladies gave me a slice of their banana cream cake. Oh. My. At the end of all that, we were both so deliciously full, we both passed out! It was a wonderful birthday, and a great new experience. It was exactly what I was looking for and will definitely become a regular.

Oh…my…goodness! Stop what you’re doing and do yourself a favor and have dinner here! The food is made to order fresh and QUICK!not to mention how authentic and good it taste! We expected it would take a while because it was homemade but no. They give you big portions and they are the sweetest loveliest ladies! We drove all the way from the Stockton area and we don’t regret it! We will definitely be back and send all of our friends and any one who will listen! Thank you so much for the A+ experience!

Came from Kansas City Missouri to eat here, the owner is definitely a gift to everyone. Personality, kindness , patience and just beautiful! Now the food!!!! My husband had the fish and I couldn’t stop eating it! Cooked to perfection! I had the chicken wings and they were excellent! Favor, cooked perfectly! Now the banana pudding cake…you’ll never find this taste any were else in the world. If you’re in the area you deserve to treat yourself or you are missing out.

I’m giving 5 stars even though the spicy Mac n cheese threw me waaayy off! I will not be ordering it again. There really should be a disclaimer on the menu when food is spicy. Not everyone likes spicy. Some people’s stomachs and throats can’t handle spicy due to medical condition having what’s called GERD. It’s not a cooks decision on what’s not really spicy. I hope they consider this and put it on the menu description of the Mac n cheese. The catfish was piping hot, seasoned, and fried just right! The collards were good. The cornbread could’ve been bigger, but it was good, and the peach cobbler was good as well(also could’ve been larger portion). I would’ve preferred bigger portions of cornbread, collards and dessert, with just 3 pieces of fish instead of 7. Nonetheless, I recommend this place and I will be returning to try other dishes. Also, the service was great!

Ordered catfish shrimp combo with potato salad, corn, cornbread, peach cobbler and banana pudding. The food was good but the 1star is for several reasons. 1)I watched a worker with an apron on outside with a dog in hand, go straight to the counter without washing hands 2) they have a dog sitting on the counter. Why is a dog inside of a restaurant? 3) I asked if the catfish was real catfish or swai and the cook told me that I had the “nasty gross real catfish.” What a way to speak about the food you sell. 4) I did not receive banana pudding, I got home to see that I had been given white cake with vanilla cookies on it. I don’t like white or yellow cake 5) I called several times to tell about the order mix up during open hours and they never answered, and the mail box is full. 6) not sure why the corn was brown instead of yellow. Old maybe? Businesses can’t please everyone, but they CAN be professional. It’s the small things that count.

Been meaning to go here for a while and was drawn in by the beautiful mural. Ordered the chicken and fish combo dinner with the catfish and it was incredible. They add jalapeno to their mac and cheese and their greens are delightfully. Lastly, I ordered the lemon on lemon cake for dessert and it was fantastic. I cannot wait to get back

The food was AMAZING! Gumbo was definitely a great choice and yes, she has crab legs all through it! I chose the turkey chops, garlic mashed potatoes and cabbage. Had the cake and peach cobbler for dessert! Nothing, I repeat NOTHING was a disappointment. Sistas Soul Food Kafe is the BEST place for soul food!
