I try to support black businesses because as a culture we don’t support each other enough. And I do my best to read negative reviews on any business or product objectively. Leaning on my own experience. And based on my experience at this particular business today was disappointing. When the service, food, and atmosphere are less than, it strongly supports why black businesses aren’t supported. My prayer is that the owner and staff will take a hard step back and examine. They may stay in business but there will always be a struggle to stay in business if there is no desire to see the need for improvement. And by the looks of the many many negative reviews in less than a year, much improvement is needed.

AVERAGE at best. I travel the , and throughout, 30 yrs of truck driving. There’s NO southern hospitality at this place. I asked the server was it ketchup or tomato sauce on the meatloaf, instead of ASKING the food preparers DIRECTLY behind him, he instead chose the ” I dunno know, I don’t know what to tell you ” response. To a paying customer??? I had to give him the answer to “please ask the person directly behind you”. Anyways, the baked spaghetti was very good, Mac and cheese VERY average. Spinach a tad above average. If the atmosphere doesn’t improve, the makers of the Mac/cheese better lol.

Today me, my sisters and niece decided to have are Mother’s Day dinner there. My sisters been here before but not me. I was raised on Soul Food and can cook my butt off. First off customer service was amazing. I ordered the smothered pork chops, dressing, mac n cheese and cake with pineapples and coconut in it. My drink was ice tea but I poured that out because that didn’t taste good so I got Kool aid (fruit punch) and baby it’s was fire. I sat down and started to eat and when I tell you everything on my plate was good it was good good. The pork chops was so tender and the dressing was just right. I don’t know who grandma or grandpa back there cooking but I want to thank them. I had so much food left I can’t wait to eat it later on. Now the guy that was serving me said I was going to love it and I was like I’ll be the judge of that because I’m a cook and baby he was right I had to go back up there and tell him how good the food was. I’ve been in Indianapolis since 2016, I’m from Milwaukee and I was raised in Mississippi so I know all to well about good Soul Food and this place is it. I’ve been to other Soul Food places here and left disappointed. Thanks for a great experience, great service and great food. Next time I’m bringing my kids.

Baked chicken with mac and cheese and yams. Tasty. Food was hot and packaged well. Save time by calling ahead. Offered me cornbread but it didn’t end up in the container or bag. Things happen! Staff I interacted with were friendly. Everything smelled delicious. I’m looking forward to trying the pork chops next time

They have the best breakfast and Sundays is my favorite day to go esp. if Ms.Sherri cooked the ham. Their deviled eggs are soooooo good!! Down to the BBQ, no sauce needed.

The place was clean. The customer service was so poor that I didn’t even get to enjoy my food and had to take it to go! There was no crowd and the wait time was ridiculous for the number of people working. This was my first and last time coming here.
