My friends and I were excited to finally try this place. I ordered 3 Thursday Specials (only 2 pictured) via Uber Eats. The reason for 2 stars is because some of the sides were inedible. The mac was charred, the mashed potatoes tasted sour and over seasoned, and the greens were bitter & salty. The baked beans and rice were decent. We ordered BBQ chicken, fried chicken and salmon. The BBQ and fried chicken were both really good. Salmon was ok. If I ever order from here again, I would only stick to the meats and avoid the sides.

Hands down the best soul food! Great catering! Amazing chicken wings, Mac and cheese, and just great all the way around. We ordered 200 wings and two large pans of Mach and cheese for our baby shower of 100 people and ever single person said nothing but great things!! Will be using again for my mother in laws birthday!

I love their food. You can taste the love in every bite. Whenever I go, I can never make up my mind what I want to eat. You can’t go wrong with that fried chicken or fried fish. When you eat Shugar Shack, it like eating at your grandmas-so good. Ask for the mac n cheese ; seafood salad ; and yams -tell them I sent you. Food for the soul for real.

I ordered the fried fish platter with Mac & cheese and yams. When got to location the lights was off and person open door to give me my platter. I was confused because I didn’t smell anything cooking or didn’t see anyone cooking . When I got home the fish was mushy unseasoned, yams tasted like it was out of a can and Mac & cheese sure didn’t taste like soul food. Not to mention everything was cold and it felt and taste like it was out of the fridge and microwaved but still was cold. Waste of money !

I had the fish platter. The fish was good but it was a little dry. The cheese was non-existent in the mac and cheese and the potato salad was lousy, they didn’t even send the 2 pieces of cornbread that is I paid for. I spent 52 dollars on that food. Waisted my money. Oh the lemon aid was the best thing in the order.

Usually the food is delicious. The last couple times I ordered I was not satisfied. I don’t know what’s going on but The mac&cheese had a burnt taste to it and the sweet potatoes have too much of everything in it, I’m shocked cause like I said the food is usually delicious.

I hate to do this to a B.O.B. but I have to be fair and honest. I expected more from this establishment and overlooked the reviews. But after eating here I am able to draw my own conclusions. The food isn’t desirable. I’m not sure what their rendition of macaroni and cheese is, but, it was hardly edible. As far as the yams and turkey chops, they lacked flavor. I also was missing the rice that was said to come with my order.

Not sure who “Shugar” is, but this food definitely looks and tastes like it was made in a Shack. Listen people, Soul Food is to be made with Soul, not haste. Ingredients wise, it was decent, but using genetically over-sized fat/grizzly turkeychops is nobody’s true wish. Rice is the easiest thing to make, yet it was paste and you could not find the gravy.
