This was our first time coming here. We thought the food was alright, the best thing we ate was the shrimp nachos. The hush puppies were not my favorite, I feel like they felt too crunchy. And some of the greens in the salad and the burger were old. Even though we had a coupon for a free appetizer our total came out to almost $60.

Refreshing summer drink menu! Also new for the summer menu are the conch fritters…delicious! Filling was a perfect balance to the fried exterior. Daughter-in-law had the crab legs. She was cracking and pulling lovely full pieces of crab out of the shell denoting well cooked legs. We both had chargrilled oysters which were scrumptious. We both also shared the fried shrimp. They were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of breading.

This place wasn’t too bad. I will come again. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. I’ll start off by saying that the thing I didn’t like was the portion of the combo basket. $18 dollars for 8 shrimp and a small piece of fish with some fries, I would have expected more. Metro diner serves two bigger fish with more fries for cheaper. The burger was a good sized burger with delicious fries. We will be ordering the burger again. I also ordered the calamari and it was very good and a big portion as well. Lastly, I didn’t mind that we had to seat ourselves. However, where we chose to sit looked cleared of any plates or cups so we sat there, but upon further inspection you could see cup stains and food crumbs left from the previous party. I had to clean up our table with the moist towelettes and paper towels they provide on the table.

06/24/2023- WOW – today’s food and service DEFINITELY got my 5 stats!!!! Painkiller drink to start, grilled shrimp nachos AND chargrilled oysters!!!! I’m IMPRESSED and STUFFED!!! ReOpened -UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT !!! Attended “soft opening” , so the staff was still learning- only reason for 4 stars. The restaurant is clean and neat, with high open ceiling, providing good air flow and ventilation. Staff was helpful and courteous. Food was very good, came out very quickly, especially for a first night open. Can’t wait to go back and utilize the outdoor seating and listen to some live music when it’s offered! Great dining opportunity on the “far side of town” – Love the location- I don’t have to drive into all the hustle of downtown for good seafood and entertainment!

This place was very busy, and the bartender seemed as though she was a little over whelmed. She forgot about one customer’s food and it sat in the window for quite some time. The oysters were on point. The fried shrimp was OK, but nothing special. I would definitely go back.

Heard Shuckin Shack was under new management and decided to give them another try. What a difference! We tried the low country boil, shrimp basket and shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits were my favorite with the chorizo sausage! Keep the good work. I’ll be back sooner than later!

Amazing staff, amazing food and I look forward to my next visit… We were seated quickly, the food was hot and cooked to perfection. It’s nice to know there is a real seafood restaurant in Jacksonville that I can enjoy again with my family and friends with a great atmosphere. Great job guys! The oysters were amazing, I have got to figure out how you guys cook those things. Thank you again; I’ll be back soon!
