My family ordered chicken madras, chicken saag, lamb tikka masala, an onion kulcha, and a nirvana bowl. The curries were flavorful and complex, the kulcha was a nice texture, and the nirvana bowl had a variety of ingredients (it felt healthy but wasn’t boring to eat). I thought the madras was the best out of everything we ordered.

This review is after 3 visits. The food is OK but unreliable. The service is poor. Let’s break it down.

The food here has an authentic taste. Most Indian restaurants have more or less the same menu, with little representation of states like Kerala, Goa or Tamil Nadu. But the specials here are indeed specials. You might just walk into a pleasant surprise.

Shiva’s Kitchen is a gem among Indian restaurants in Greater Boston. The food is simply amazing – authentic, tasty, and perfectly spiced. Each dish is a burst of flavor that transports you to the heart of India. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the delightful dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or a newcomer, Shiva’s Kitchen is a must-visit destination that leaves you craving for more. Truly a top-notch Indian dining experience!

Wonderful family dinner for 16 handled wonderfully by the staff. Diverse pan-Subcontinental food, all of it done well. In fact, this was my favorite tandoori chicken ever… I am not normally a fan, but this was juicy and delicious!

I wanted to like this place and while the food is pretty good, the service is horrendous. Both times it has taken almost 45 minutes to receive our food. Additionally, last time we were there, they charged us twice for our meal. They claimed that the credit card payment did not go through and demanded we pay cash for our bill. This whole process took over 30 minutes and we had a screaming 1 year old with us. After we saw the payment charge on our credit card, we called the restaurant to reverse the charge and they claimed it wasn’t possible. They offered us a restaurant credit (great, now I have to go back and endure this bad service again). I don’t want a credit, I want my $60 back! It was just poor customer service all around and unfortunate because we tend to be very forgiving of these kinds issues if the restaurant makes it right. Take your money to the restaurants in Waltham and avoid this place!! You’ll get better prices, food and service. This place is owned by crooks.

Truthfully. The food was delicious!!! I will order from here again for sure, but sadly we received chicken instead of paneer on our order and we’ve been vegetarian for years so that was very sad 🙁 other than that, the food was spectacular. Next time I order food, I’ll leave several comments saying VEGETARIAN DIET to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

I do like Indian food, but not an expert. To me, this is one of the best Indian I have had. Definitely in the last few years. The ambur biryani was the best biryani I have ever tasted. The chicken korma was deeply and intricately seasoned. Beyond heat, I tasted so many complimentary spices. The lamb was magically non gamey and very tender. Look forward to going back.
