The Akrami family (Azar & Ata) migrated to the United States of America in the late 1970’s due to the Revolution in their native country of Persia. They left everything behind and with great courage, determination, and faith started a whole new life with their two sons, Ramin and Ashcon.
The word of mouth soon reached the nearby cities to their hometown of Louisville, KY, traveling as far as Washington DC. After a few decades of persistence by friends and foe alike to open a restaurant, Akrami’s sons Ramin and Ashcon finally put a front to a very old family tradition of crazy-good food and then there was born Shiraz Mediterranean Grill.

Just Wow! Amazing Flavors With Generous Portions! A LA Carte Because You Don’t Need, But Will Want The Sides 😉

Loved it! This is a good review – but honest… here’s the DL. The chicken was touted as the best… I would say it was a 6.5 on a 10 for us. There are MANY other things we should have gotten. The Crispy Brussels were the best we’d ever had – and we are gourmet brussels fiends. The garlic oil and salt was like some magical concoction that came to the top of and Andes Mountains. The eggplant side was amazing.

Today I enjoyed one of my favorite foods at one of my favorite restaurants. Family owned!! Locally owned!! I appreciate the staff and their welcoming home away from home atmosphere. ❤️ Thank you for the great service and food, chicken kabobs and rice. Family loved it. Will try the ground beef kabobs and grilled salmon next time.

This restaurant is located off the road upon a hill of small businesses. You will miss it if you dont look up. Its definitely a great secret to discover if you like Mediterranean Food.

I don’t like service, they kinda rude. I ordered a well-done stake, and they burned it. I threw at my dog he didn’t want to eat either . They also overcharged me for this trash

I enjoyed my main course but it feels like you dont get enough for your money. For the money you spend here, you could get groceries for a week for yourself. I got 2 dishes for me and my friend and that was 70 dollars all itself with side salads which i do not feel like was worth it. The food itself was fine, the lettuce and chicken were fresh but i still feel like ive been ripped off.

I was at Louisville for work and my coworkers recommended this restaurant when they found out I was Persian. I visited this restaurant 3 times during my stay. The food is absolutely amazing. The yogurt sauce and tahdig was everything I wanted!! I haven’t had bread tahdig for a long time and they gave me a bit extra when I told them how much I missed it. The owner was super friendly and amazing. I’ll definitely stop by the hotel during my next visit.
