This place is my grandpa’s favorite restaurant chain and it definitely lives up to the quality. The only issue is it’s pretty small and hard to find. It’s behind 9292 Shabu. The menu is straightforward and simple but very effective. If you like bone broth and/or authentic Korean soup, I’d recommend it.

Quaint Korean soup place. The Ox Tail Soup was wonderful! As hobbyist chef, I know it takes maany hours for cartilage, fats & bone marrow to break down and give you that full bodied flavorful broth… this place accomplishes that and puts it together in a delicious soup! If you’re looking for slow cooked delicious Korean soup, I highly recommend this place.

A meal was prepared at Shinchon Sul Lung Tang happens at warp speed. An easy choice considering there’s only five things on the menu and we’re getting the sul lung tang (ox bone soup) today . Soup was richly flavored, brisket is tender, the radish kimchi is delicious. Please keep it up. We will comeback.

from my travels, I notice that a traditional Korean ox-tail stew specialty restaurant in the US generally have a few defining characteristics: (1) well-aged, carbonated-tasting kimchi, (2) exceptional ox-tail stew, and (3) an otherwise minimalist menu. This place appears to only have the third element. The rest was about average compared to a generalist Korean restaurant and below average for a specialty restaurant.

The combination ox tail soup I ordered was ok, but I found the price of $23 plus tax to be quite steep for a single bowl. The cost didn’t match the portion size and overall value. I hope the restaurant considers adjusting their pricing to better reflect the offering.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Even if I haven’t been served inside the restaurant yet, to have a good takeout is enough for me to have high hopes upon this restaurant. The soups always hit home and is best served hot, even better if it has just gotten done cooking. Bonus points if you got off an exhausting shift. Shin Chon Sullungtang is also a chain restaurant in Korea! & Knowing that sullungtang is such a staple in ever corner of Korea, this restaurant provides just that— a taste of Korea!
