Best service and kindest staff in memphis. Food is consistently delicious, hot, and fresh. Portions are huge, and price hasn’t increased in years. Red lentils are to die for. On top of it all they spoil my daughter every time we go. She is 10 and says she wishes could eat Ethiopian every day. More restaurants could learn from the owners of this restaurant. I’ve never felt more welcome than here.

This place is in an unassuming strip mall (not even facing the main road), and the decor is no frills – but the food is spectacular! I can’t speak on the meat dishes, but the veg items are great! The salad was fresh and crunchy. The house made vinaigrette was refreshing, and the black pepper was a nice touch! (Bonus points for the fresh chopped jalapeno!) The vegetarian platter was enough for two, but priced for one. Every item was tasty and so well seasoned. The lentils were cooked to perfection, no matter their size and color – each retained the proper texture. 10/10 absolutely recommend!

I’m not a connoisseur of Ethiopian food like some of the other reviewers but wowwww this food is amazing. I had the lamb wet and I had to force myself to stop eating when I got full because it was amazing. Perfectly spiced, the lentils were incredibly flavorful, and the cabbage was perfect. The owner was super friendly and has great energy. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and very welcoming. It’s way out of my way but I’ll be back regularly.

I will start with the positive. I thought the restaurant looked and smelled clean. It was nicely decorated. However, I have no idea how the food tasted because after 45 minutes of waiting for the order I left. I only have an hour for lunch and spent 10 minutes waiting for my order to be taken. It’s not like the place was full. There was only another table of 6, my lunch mate, myself. in the restaurant.
