I used to love the original Sheepherder’s, and was sad to see it go. Of course, I was thrilled to see it reopen some time later, only to learn it was not the same ownership or management. I decided to give it a try. I was pleased at first, but then I took the family out for a steak dinner. We all opted for the special of the day that the waitress proposed, but she neglected to mention that the steak was smothered in blue cheese. That is a pretty major point to miss. Dinner was a disaster. The manager was unsympathetic. The only resolution he would agree to was a 10% discount. Fine, if that’s how you end your customer relations. I have not been back since.

Have only been here for happy hour a few times. Great restaurant with lots of history! It does seem a bit off the beaten path on Folsom Blvd, but very easy to get to from Hwy 50.

Salads are awesome and fresh, seafood melt and BLT both couldn’t be better. All ingredients are great quality and ample.

There is nothing special at all about this place. You would be better off at McDonald’s.

Susan Evans
