Great Food and Great Service! Came with my family and friends, a party 10. It is recommended by my daughter, who lived around the neighborhood. This restaurant serves mainly Shanghainese cuisine, and we ordered some main dishes as Jumbo Shrimp In Egg Yolk Sauce, Rice Cake W Green Mustard, Shredded Pork W Hot Chili Pepper, Stir-Fried Eggplants In Yu-Xiang with Garlic Sauce, String Beans Braised In Brown Sauce, Rice with Sauteed Pork & Vegetable Hot Pot. Chef Specialty Seafood Soup and Oxtail Casserole are so delicious and must recommend. The dessert Fried Taro Egg Roll is first time to seen and tasty is pretty good.

Shanghai Fresh used to easily be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Cambridge. Unfortunately, it’s no longer the case. It’s still good, but with the change in cooks over the years, the preparation isn’t quite as strong, the food can be a bit salty, and the flavors aren’t as good.

The mapo tofu with fish fillet hotpot tasted great. We also got pork belly with bean curd knots which was not as tender but still good! Overall, we were impressed with the authentic Shanghainese food options. The staff were very quick and friendly.

The restaurant is extremely busy and the table is not clean enough to welcome the customers. These stars are only for the food. The food is great. But the service is the worst ever.

Ordered Takeout, so can’t say much about the restaurant or service. It was well packaged and the food was good.

Braised port with bean curd knot was as tough as rocks. Not recommended. Nothing to do with Shanghai food. Another cold dish was right from the freezer.

Really did not have much expectations. Shanghai Fresh is different. You can tell by the clientele (both seated and take out) that there is something “more authentic” going on here. Food is cooked accurately, and each dish seems to be presented with a level of care that you don’t expect. (E.g. the baby bok choy was actually plated, not just dumped in a jumble on the platter.) The dining room is also modern, clean. And it’s always busy!

The duck is salty to us. Other food taste good though.

Food was really good and the menu selection was awesome. Will have to go back many times more to try everything we wanted. Shanghai noodles were the only thing I wouldn’t order again. The buns and dumplings were great, pork ribs were a bit dry but flavor was good. Beef and scallion stole the show- must order!
