the best one that we had in American-Chinese restaurants so far. We can see the intentions on details, although it’s not traditional Chinese taste. Friendly price!

This used to be one of my fave places but it’s just gone downhill in the past year. We ignored the poorly made food a few times just because it’s always been so good but today we were greeted with roaches on our table. I was horrified but didn’t make a huge deal until we were still charged for our food even though we barely touched it. I couldn’t believe that they would even charge us at all but we paid and said never again. This was definitely the last straw

As a new resident of Georgetown we were searching for some Asian inspired food for a late lunch and came across Shanghai Express. The lunch specials are a great value and have pretty much everything you want… choice of soup, egg roll, one of about 30 different main dishes and white or fried rice for a very fair price, most for $10-$11. Delicious fresh food, attentive service, clean restaurant and very nice staff.

Nice family owned restaurant with good food , competitively priced. Devon and the wait staff do a great job regardless of how busy they are any evening. Popular dishes with my family are orange chicken , chicken and broccoli, moo goo gai pan and chicken with vegetables

My wife and I had our first visit here. We were greeted upon entry and seated promptly. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food was perfect in presentation, quality, and flavor. We completely enjoyed every aspect of our visit and will definitely be returning often.

Could use a remodel inside but the food was very good. Our server was very nice and helpful. It sounds funny but I recommend the Pu-Pu platter sampler. Very nice presentation with the fire in the middle. Good Georgetown spot for Chinese dine in or take out

I have been spoiled by some pretty amazing Chinese food for most of my life, and it’s been admittedly a bit tough to find anything close to that out here in the North-of-Austin area.

The food was good, we had a crab rangoon appetizer, and I had their sesame chicken entree The entree portions were good. The service was good, but it felt like we were being rushed a little, e.g. they asked if we wanted to go boxes when we were halfway through our meal, and they brought the check a short time later. With that said, they were always polite and cordial. The place was busy, which is always a good sign. The furnishings are very simple and no real ambience at all, but I definitely recommend the place for good food and quick service.

The BEST Asian food around. My entire family is obsessed with this place. Any time we are in Austin and get Asian somewhere else we are reminded how amazing Shanghai is. Food is always hot and delicious. We will never go anywhere else now. Keep up the great job Shanghai!!!

This was my first time trying Shangai Express, and I decided to try Orange Chicken takeout and my girlfriend Shrimp Lo mein. Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the chicken while my girlfriend was totally fine. I don’t know if the chicken was under cooked or washed properly but it hit me after a few hours resulting in painful side effects of food poisoning causing me to miss my flight the next morning to Washington. First and last time eating here.
